Casey and Will met at Colorado College while involved in an organization called Best Buddies, which helps to build friendships between people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Later in the year, Casey was the TA for Will's biology class. When he heard through the grape vine that Casey had a crush on him, Will texted Casey, asking about how to get healthcare hours and about becoming a CNA. This was just an excuse to talk to her (he already knew the answer), but when she replied with some sage wisdom, he told her he owed her a cup of coffee for her help. Will parked his car and walked up to her house (very impressive) before taking Casey on the perfect, hours-long coffee date. The rest is history!
Except that, of course, Casey was about a month and a half away from moving to Houston, Texas for PA school. They stayed in touch and saw each other occasionally when Casey visited Colorado, but their friendship was messy and complicated over the next few years.
They reconnected early in the pandemic when Casey moved back to Colorado to start working as a PA in Denver. After spending some time rebuilding a solid friendship, they officially started dating in November of 2020.
So much has changed since then! Lots of learning and growing, both individually and as a couple. Casey and Will now live in their home in Aurora, with their two insane dogs, Delta and Zak. Will is in med school at CU Anschutz, and Casey works right next door at Children's Hospital Colorado! They are very excited to be married and continue doing life together, and stoked to celebrate with all of you!
