Dustin and I met at WAKA, an adult kickball league in November of 2013 in Orlando, FL. My best friend Ashley convinced me to join even though my athleticism leaves something to be desired... 😔 After a few months of friendship, Ashley again convinced me to go on a double with her, her boyfriend, Britt and Dustin. Britt was actually good friends with Dustin before he started dating Ashley and Ashley and I have been friends since college. Needless to say, we became the best of couple friends. In July of 2014, Dustin was offered a job to move back to his home, Winter Haven, FL, which he took. We did the "long" distance thing, spending only weekends with each other for almost 10 months! Finally Dustin bought a house and invited me to move in, where we have happily been living ever since. It became an even more lovely home once we brought in our sweet fur child, Toccoa. Dustin proposed on December 9, 2016, just a day after our 2 year, 9 month anniversary. He surprised me with a trip to Disney's Very Merry Christmas party as an early Christmas present. We spent the whole time eating free cookies and drinking free hot chocolate as it was one of those rare cold winter nights in Florida. After the fireworks (my favorite), we tracked down a Photo Pass photographer to take our picture in front of the castle. Dustin says he was completely ready the entire time until we posed for the picture and he realized there were hundreds of people lined up around the area, waiting for the parade. He anxiously knelt down, told me how much he loved me and asked me to marry him! Who would have thought he could be so romantic?!
