Frequently Asked Questions

What is the dress code?

We would love to see our friends and family get dressed up with us! The dress code is Black-Tie Preferred. Men can wear a tuxedo or a suit and tie, and women can wear an evening gown or formal, floor length dress. We kindly ask that women refrain from wearing black dresses and colors traditionally reserved for the Bride such as whites, ivories, and creams. The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors, weather dependent, so please dress accordingly. Ladies, please consider wearing flats, block heels, or wedges as the ceremony will take place on the back lawn.

When should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony as we will begin promptly at 5:00pm. This will allow time for you to park, sign the guestbook, and find your seat. If you arrive after 5:00pm, you will be asked to wait inside the venue during the ceremony and join the guests for cocktail hour.

Are children invited to the wedding?

While we love your little ones we have decided to make this an adults-only event. The only exception will be the children in our immediate family. We hope you understand and are able to enjoy a date night. The drinks are on us!

What happens if I don't RSVP in time?

If we do not receive your RSVP back by the date we have provided you will be marked as not attending. We have to provide total guest counts to our vendors in a timely manner and cannot accept late RSVPs. We hope that you understand and know that we will miss you celebrating with us!

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to the capacity of our venue we can only accommodate those guests formally invited. If you have received a plus one they will appear listed on your invitation and under your name when you RSVP.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We are having an unplugged ceremony and kindly request that all phones are on silent or turned off and put away during the ceremony. We have hired a professional photographer to capture our special day and would hate for their shots to have phones in them. After the ceremony is over, feel free to take as many photos as you'd like!

Does The Finch House provide parking?

Yes! The Finch House has parking on site and overflow parking can be found at the church across the street. It is difficult to secure an Uber or Lyft driver, so please plan your travel accordingly as we want to ensure everyone gets home safely.
