It all began in the most unexpected way. Chris and Casey first crossed paths in January 2023 when Chris, working an EMS call, responded to a call at Casey’s grandparents’ home. They didn’t know it at the time, but fate had already brought them together. A short while later, they officially connected through Hinge, and during their first date in March 2023, they realized they had met once before—without even knowing it! From that moment on, things moved quickly. They made it official on April 1st (yes, April Fool’s Day!), and by Easter, Chris had already met the Vandegrift family—and fit right in. That fall, they moved into their first home together, a cozy townhome full of love and laughter.In March 2024, Chris proposed on Casey’s family land, the same place where they are building their forever home. They chose a wedding date with special meaning: October 25, 2025—Casey’s grandparents’ wedding anniversary. But love sometimes writes its own timeline.While visiting Ocean Isle Beach in August 2024, Chris and Casey decided to elope in a small, intimate ceremony. They hoped to include Casey’s beloved dog, Jaxson, whose health was fading. Though Jaxson passed away just before the elopement, they carried his memory with them as they exchanged vows by the ocean. In another heartfelt twist, Chris chose to take the Vandegrift name—symbolizing not just their love, but the family they’ve built together. Now, they’re thrilled to celebrate with all of you at Gentry Farms on October 25, 2025. It’s more than a wedding—it’s the continuation of a love story that started with a chance encounter and turned into forever.

Karie has been by the bride’s side since the chaos of middle school, through braces, mean girls, gossip, and every life milestone since. Their friendship, built on years of laughter, late-night talks, and unconditional support, is truly one of a kind. Today, Karie is not only a devoted friend but also a dedicated RN at Farmville ER, known for her compassion, strength, and calm presence—even taking on some of Chris messes from EMS calls. From sharing lockers to sharing life’s biggest moments, Karie has always been family in every way that matters.

Leah first connected with the bride through their shared work on graphic designs for Feeding Appomattox. What began as a creative collaboration soon turned into a genuine friendship grounded in shared values and laughter. Today, Leah and the bride are not only close friends but also colleagues, continuing to work side by side in their professional lives. Leah’s creativity, warmth, and steady presence have been a true gift, and the bride is so grateful to have her as part of the wedding day.

Tori first came into the bride’s life over a decade ago as her high school yearbook instructor—a mentor who encouraged creativity, leadership, and confidence in a big way. What began as a student-teacher relationship quickly evolved into a lasting family bond built on mutual respect, shared passions, and plenty of laughs along the way. Over the years, Tori and the Rothgeb family have remained a steady presence in the bride’s life, cheering her on through every season. Having her stand by the bride's side today, not just as a mentor but as a cherished friend, is a full-circle moment that makes this day even more meaningful.

Chris met Lucas in 7th grade, and what started as a middle school friendship quickly grew into a lifelong bond. Over the years, they’ve shared just about everything—inside jokes, life advice, unforgettable adventures, and more than a few embarrassing moments they'd both prefer to keep quiet (for now). Lucas has been a constant in Chris’s life through every major chapter, always offering unwavering support, a sharp sense of humor, and the kind of loyalty you only find in the truest of friends.

Despite never sharing a classroom or a hometown, Hakr and Chris have been great friends, who met playing online on Xbox. From voice chats and virtual victories to real-world advice and support, their friendship has stood the test of time (and lag). Hakr is the kind of friend who always shows up (via headset talks)

Bellino met Chris through Hakr, and what started as a shared friend group quickly turned into a solid friendship of its own. Whether it's gaming, hanging out, or just cracking jokes, Bellino brings great energy wherever he goes. Chris is thrilled to have him as part of the wedding crew

Poroch met Chris through mutual friends Hakr, Lucas, and Bellino, and quickly became part of the close-knit circle. With shared military backgrounds and a love for late-night gaming sessions, Poroch brings a unique mix of humor. Chris is proud to have him as part of the crew on his big day.

Braylon may be the youngest groomsman, but he’s got a heart as big as anyone’s. A huge soccer fan with endless energy and a contagious smile, Braylon absolutely adores Chris and was beyond excited to be part of this special day. Whether he's showing off his moves or keeping spirits high, he brings a joyful spark to the celebration. Chris is honored to have his little buddy Braylon standing by his side.

Siddalee is the adorable daughter of Tori, one of the bride’s bridesmaids and dearest friends. With her goofy laugh, big personality, and sassy attitude, Siddalee is sure to steal a few hearts (and maybe your snacks, too) on the big day. She’s been a joyful little presence in the bride’s life for 3 years, and it means the world to have her as part of the celebration. Get ready—she’s bringing the sass to the aisle!

Thomas knows the bride as Mrs. Casey, his speech therapist—and trust us, their sessions are anything but boring! Packed with games, laughter, and plenty of play, Mrs. Casey has made speech therapy a fun adventure and lifelong friends with the Johnston family. Now, Thomas is excited to return the favor by proudly carrying the rings down the aisle and being a part of this special day.

Marie is Casey’s mentor and wise guide. She’s had a front-row seat watching Chris become a huge part of Casey’s life, bringing endless joy along the way. As the unofficial officiant, Marie is thrilled to help celebrate these two lovebirds tying the knot (for the second time)—because honestly, who else could keep this ceremony running smoothly?
