Chris and Cassandra first met at a University of Dayton leadership retreat for incoming freshman. After an initial pick up line * the two became fast friends . Throughout college Chris and Cassandra shared the same mission : have as much fun as possible while remaining committed to learning, building community, and preparing for a faith-filled future. Both developed a passion for education, community, and making the world a better place.
*While strumming a guitar and leaning against a dorm wall, Chris asked Cassandra "Do you like the Dave Mathews Band?"
After living out of state, Cassandra and Chris reconnected when they both found themselves back in Cincinnati. What began as the rekindling of a friendship blossomed into more as Chris started inviting Cassandra over for homemade Italian dinners.
The two share a mutual love of food, travel, music, and the outdoors. Together they have explored much of the U.S. and elsewhere, having traveled to eight countries together over the past two and a half years. While they always enjoy the opportunity to travel, there's still no place like home. Cassandra and Chris are both grateful for their loving families and wonderful community of friends in Cincinnati, Cleveland and elsewhere. They are excited to welcome friends new and old around the table for many years to come
Chris asked Cassandra to be his wife on a snowy winter evening in Eden Park. Eden Park holds a special place in their hearts since they both lived on the park only a few streets apart . While dating, the two would meet in the park along a wooded path that connected their homes to run, picnic, and enjoy the outdoors. In that very meeting spot,Chris took a knee and popped the question.
