What is the Attire

Garden party attire is expected for the wedding, listed below are examples but come in what you feel comfortable that adheres to the dress code. Ladies, a breezy sundress with pastel colours or floral prints with a lightweight fabric (i.e. cotton or chiffon). Comfortable shoes that won't sink into the ground such as wedges, flats, or block heels. Light layers are suggested like a shawl or cardigan. Gentlemen, a sports jacket or blazer that's made out of cotton or linen so that it's comfortable in the sun, it gives a dressy but relaxed look. This can be paired with a colourful tie or pocket square. A button-down dress shirt and lightweight, breathable dress pants can be a fun colour or garden themed. Loafers or dress shoes such as leather oxfords or suede derbies are best to navigate the terrain. The weather is expected to be anywhere between 20-25 degrees Celsius (68-77 degrees Fahrenheit) during the day and has a possibility to drop down to 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit) in the evening. Dress for the weather.

Where Do We Park

We ask that drivers drop off at Ramsay Residence, and keep it quick as not to block the road, and drivers to park their vehicle on the main road (Big Bay Point Road). There is no parking available at the residence, all parking is to be on the main road. Drivers will walk back to the address, but we will have golf carts shuttling drivers as well. Keep in mind, the sooner you arrive, the closer your parking will be. There will be directional signage to point everyone in the right direction, as well as ushers directing people. If you need to Uber home after the wedding, your vehicles will be allowed to remain on the main road overnight. We do encourage you to Uber to the wedding, if possible, to decrease parking and overnight vehicles.

Are Kids Invited

Yes, children are invited to both the ceremony and reception, we can’t wait to celebrate with all our friends and family. There are kid friendly meal options, the party music and atmosphere will mature around 9:00pm.

Are there any hotels with reserved blocks of rooms

No, there are no hotels within 15 minutes of the venue. We suggest an AirBNB as the venue is located in cottage country and there are plenty of choices locally. If you’d prefer a hotel, the top three closest ones are Super Eight, Holiday Inn, and the Allure.

with the wedding outside what happens if it rains

We will be doing the wedding outside rain or shine. we have rented event tents for the day to provide shade during the event and protect us from the rain. if it is raining we will be doing the full event under the tents ... Don't worry Kevin ordered a more then big enough tent to still have an amazing party and keep everyone (mostly) dry :)

Where can I ask a question? Who do I contact?

For inquiries regarding the wedding you can contact Cassandra and Kevin as well as immediate family members with any questions or concerns.

Will there be an open bar?

Yes, it is an open bar there will be 2 bartenders serving alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks after the ceremony. No shots will be permitted at the wedding. The bar opens at 4:30pm. There will be juice and water available starting at 3:30pm just before the ceremony.

Am I allowed to bring a plus-one?

All wedding invitations will have your plus-one's name written on the envelope, if you’re allowed to bring one. Please, when you RSVP, include them as well as any dietary needs they require.

Am I allowed to take photos at the wedding?

We will have an unplugged wedding ceremony, there will be two professional photographers there to capture all the moments, so our wonderful guests can enjoy the celebration first hand. After the ceremony feel free to take as many photos as you'd like, we will have a photo app available for you to post on to share your photography with everyone.

Where will wedding updates be posted?

You can keep up to date on all the news on our Home Page, as well as any changes that could be made to help you navigate the wedding day easier.

What are some local activities and entertainment?

To keep kids busy and entertained X-Play is a local hot spot and is a mix of everything. It features an arcade, trampolines, and a laser tag course all excellent family activities while only being 20 minutes away from the venue. The Rec Room is also a fun alternative with an arcade, ping pong tables, pool tables and a small bowling alley. They also have trivia nights, and paint nights as well as other featured events. Kempenfest in downtown Barrie will be from August 1st - 4th. It is a large event for Barrie and area residents and features vendors, rides, and activities for all ages. Chappell Farms is local (30-minute drive from the venue) that boasts fun petting zoo animals and farm fun. For a more mature crowd, there are a variety of local escape rooms to choose from and are so much fun as a group! Friday Harbour Resort is close by the venue, only a 5 minute drive with plenty of parking. They offer plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking trails, bike rentals, kayak/canoe/SUP rentals, and more. They also have stores on their promenade and crafting fun at Crock a Doodle where you can paint pottery. There are options for indoor golfing (simulator) or a PGA standard outdoor course for the avid golfers.

What are the best local restaurants?

Kensington Burger Bar on Bryne Drive in Barrie as well as Burger Priest are our two favourite smash burger restaurants that we frequent regularly and have enjoyed every visit. A local (Alcona) favourite for Mexican food is Tenoch, a family run restaurant that serves delicious homemade authentic Mexican food. Guac Mexi Grill is a chain restaurant that is local and has friendly staff with easy to go options. Our choice for Italian is East Side Marios, it is a family friendly dine in restaurant. Il Buco is another Italian option that we've heard plenty of good comments regarding both the food and service. Lone Star and Kelsey’s are good family dine in options that feature a menu with variety for picky eaters and family friendly environments. The Keg and Baton Rouge are excellent steak house options for an upscale dining experience for Date Night or a special treat. Baton Rouge features live music from local artists most nights, check for the times and artists on their website. For an excellent breakfast or lunch we suggest Cora, they have many options available both healthy and savory as well as providing a family friendly environment. Stacked is a close and quick breakfast option that’s affordable and can be both take out or dine in. Williams is an excellent breakfast and café option with a quiet environment. There's also your typical Tim Hortons with plenty of locations to choose from. Starbucks is your closest coffee option, from the venue, being only a five-minute drive away.
