Cassandra and Matt met during undergrad at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2014.

Cassandra and Matt lived in the Bay Area in Northern California for a few years after graduating from Cal Poly until they moved to North Carolina. During the midst of the COVID pandemic in 2020, Cassandra received an opportunity to go to graduate school at North Carolina State University to do Equine Nutrition research that she couldn't pass up. Matt and Cassandra packed up a car and drove across the country in July 2020 to live in Raleigh, North Carolina, stopping and exploring along the way. Since moving to North Carolina, they've been able to buy a house and explore this new state they currently call home.

In December 2022, Cassandra and Matt went to the Outer Banks for a weekend getaway to celebrate Matt's 30th birthday. On December 4th, during a beach picnic on a beautiful but somewhat chilly day, Matt proposed to Cassandra and she said yes!

Cassandra is a PhD candidate in Animal Science and Nutrition at North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on Equine Nutrition and she hopes to become a Professor after she graduates.

Matt just started his MBA program at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. Although going to business school is a big shift from working full time, Matt is excited for the opportunity to make connections at business school and hopes to shift his career.
