The day we first met wasn’t a scene from a movie,

She looked amazing, while I looked a little goofy.

Needless to say, things didn’t “click” at first sight.

Just the universe letting us know that the timing wasn’t quite right!

When our paths crossed a second time years down the road,

I spotted her shopping and my heart again slowed.

I later found out that it was her friend Michelle that made the first move,

Stealing Cass’s phone and messaging me so smooth.

Over those few years I developed just enough,

That Cassandra didn’t call me on my maturity bluff.

She took the leap and gave me a chance,

And in a few short months, we’ll be sharing our first dance.

It may not seem like the Cinderella story that you’ve all read,

Just be happy you’re invited to celebrate and break bread!

We’ll laugh, we’ll sing, and dance the night away,
