He started it...
JP and Cassie first met at work. They initially met in 2014 when Cassie inserted herself into a conversation, that she was not included in (no surprise). But, the spark didn't happen until April 2015. They passed each other in the hall, and when Cassie got back to her desk, up popped a message from JP. After a few minutes of small talk, she was quick to figure out, he was flirting! After talking throughout the day and texting thru the evening - they decided to grab breakfast in the morning (where his brothers randomly showed up, and were seated at the next table). They enjoyed a movie the night after and JP asked her out on a "Real Date", so on April 23, 2015 - their relationship began!
Intermission...
After a year of dating, the pair decided to become roommates, Gizmo Valentine became half his, and their relations ship soared.
They've gone wine tasting in Mexico a couple of times a year. They've taken trips with JP's family every Thanksgiving to Puerto Vallarta. Raced up and down the 5 freeway to visit family and friends. Flew to Georgia and drove thru 3 states to New Orleans, just to beat a storm (with Tornado warnings). They've enjoyed hundreds of sunsets. Have shared many ups and downs. And continue to support and challenge each other everyday!
Maui'd...
After 3 LONG years of dating, the two decided to take a long awaited trip to Maui. Cassie's most favorite place to be is where the ocean is, and JP had never been, so they were EXTRA excited. Even though Cassie might have suspected he was going to propose, he did a VERY good job of hiding it (JP isn't the best at secrets/surprises, and gets caught EVERY time). After an early morning, a layover, and a 30 minute drive to our hotel - we decided to grab dinner when the sun met the ocean. Once we got to the restaurant, we took some photos in front of the Sunset, and he kept complaining about how crowded the beach in Maui... at sunset... in front of the hotels, was so crowded. His gripes were cut short when our names were called to our table. After dinner, we took a stroll on on the beach, and he asked me to dance. He put on our song "At Last"- we danced, and after he twirled me around, got on one knee, and that was that!
CJPSAYIDO...
Cassie loves the water and JP favors skylines, Bali Hai fit the mold! A destination wedding was first on our list, but decided to keep it local so that as many loved ones could attend as possible. Now, as we get ready to say, "I DO" - we're constantly reminded of the love that we have for each other, and the constant support we receive from both family and friends. We decided to keep the guests to those that we've both been blessed to meet throughout our relationship (with the exception of a few) - but, know that your love and guidance has always been something that we are forever grateful for. We couldn't have asked for a more amazing group of people to witness our union!
