Cassandra and Brett first crossed paths at a small party at the end of their first year at university. Brett was too shy to approach her, and they exchanged only a few words that night. A few weeks later, he asked for her Snapchat, claiming he wouldn’t use it—a little white lie that marked the start of their connection. The following year, they became roommates, as Cassandra lived in the basement of the house where Brett stayed. He was determined to make her his best friend, and after countless American Horror Story marathons and frequently "dropping by" to check out what she was cooking, he succeeded. By the end of February, Brett finally mustered the courage to ask Cassandra out on a date—over Snapchat, no less. Since then, they’ve adopted two cats, enjoyed countless study dates, and supported each other through thick and thin. On July 27, 2024, nearly eight years later, Brett asked Cassandra to marry him!
