David and Cassi met the summer of 2017. Originally, they were planning to just use each other to go to their sorority and fraternity events. Little did they know what would come of their relationship. They talked for a few weeks before going on their first date to the McDonalds. Yes, that was Cassi's pick to eat there! Their first year was a mix of long distance travels between their universities. David was still attending East Carolina University while Cassi was attending UNC Greensboro.

Disney World has always been one of David's favorite places in the world. Cassi had never been until November 2017 when she went on David's family vacation. Disney became one of their favorite places together. This is the place David decided to propose! September 2021, David's family took a quick trip to Disney. Like any trip, David and Cassi wanted to take pictures in their favorite picture spot before tackling Splash Mountain countless times and all the chicken tenders they can manage to eat. While taking their morning pictures, David popped the question! Wrapped up in all the excitement Cassi realized later on in the day that she never actually said "yes". Obviously it was a "yes" but with all the crying and happiness in the air the formalities just flew out the window!
