Cassandra and Dean met in the summer of 2018, while they were both working on Congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon's inaugural campaign. They were friends at first, but by the fall they were smitten and have been together ever since!

2019

After half a year of long-distance while Dean was in DC and Cassandra was finishing her junior year at Swarthmore, Cassandra gets an internship in DC and they spend a summer living together. The trial run went well, to say the least.

2020

The world came to a standstill thanks to COVID-19, but there were some silver linings. After a couple months of staycationing in Media, PA with Dean's family, Dean and Cassandra move into their first apartment together in DC. They also adopt Stella, the sweetest baby kitten you ever did see.

2021

Cassandra and Dean go on their first big trip together: a week roadtripping and hiking their way through Colorado! They also move into a new apartment together, with a spare room and extra long hallway for Stella to romp around in.

2022

They tackle their next big trip: Paris. Cassandra also joins the Ischiropoulos' on their family trip to Greece, where she got to experience her first authentic pita gyro.

2023

Cassandra and Dean buy a home in Arlington, VA. After ratifying the contract in the spring it was an exciting wait until July when they finally closed on their condo and moved into their new place. A trip to Italy where they hiked in the Dolomites and went thrifting in Milan helped pass the time in between. They spend the rest of the year enjoying life in DC/NoVA and throwing dinner parties with friends in their new space.

2024

Ireland, Austria, Crete... And then they got engaged! On September 7th, 2024, Dean proposes to Cassandra while on a weekend getaway in the Shenandoah Valley. Though Cassandra knew it was coming, there were plenty of happy tears anyway.

2025

The year is filled with thousands of balls at the driving range, dozens of focaccia loaves, and long walks along the Bluemont trail. Cassandra travels to Indonesia with her mother and Dean celebrates his bachelor party in the West Virginia mountains.
