Cassandra and Joseph first met on a dating app in 2018. That's right! They immediately bonded over their love of travel and family values. They chatted for weeks online, even while Joseph was visiting Japan. A 16 hour time difference couldn't stop them from talking each other's ears off.
After a year of dating they decided to celebrate with a trip to Spain. What better way to test a relationship then in a foreign country where even the dialect of Spanish is different? Joseph was a gentleman and was up for any adventure Cassandra had planned like visiting Park Guell or Las Fallas de Valencia. Even when he had twisted his ankle at the Magic Fountain, on the way back to the Airbnb he did not want to take a seat from any woman on the train. It should be noted the entire train was filled with women because there was a march for International Women's Day.
Over the next few years they took many adventures, mainly stateside because of COVID. One of their favorites was a road trip across the Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway where they visited and saw many volcanoes and lava tubes. Cassandra was so sure Joseph would propose at the end of the trip at Crater Lake, maybe inside of the volcano itself. Joseph of course could not pass up the chance to mess with her the entire weekend.
Fast forward 5 months, the couple found themselves in Hawaii to celebrate their 5 year anniversary early. Joseph was planning to propose on a hike they had planned at the end of the trip and was incredibly nervous. After a nice Valentine's Day dinner, while they were confirming plans for the next day, Cassandra noticed an error in operating hours for one of the sites they wanted to visit. They just weren't open on Wednesdays so she had to re-arrange the schedule for the rest of the trip and moved the hike up. Joseph was understandably more stressed now because the hike was going to happen in less than 12hrs. He didn't sleep.
It gets better. On their hike up Diamond Head in Oahu, Joseph lost the ring and he didn't even know it. Cassandra noticed something shiny on the ground, it was a small box that said The Leo. She casually commented on it to Joseph since he was also a Leo and kept walking, not thinking much of it because they had seen a few lost items along the trail. Joseph quickly walked back to pick the box up claiming it was a knick-knack he had found earlier. When they finally reached the top of the volcanic crater, Joseph asked another family to take their pictures. As they started to pose for the photos, Joseph quickly turned around and got down on one knee to propose to Cassandra, this time for real. She said yes!!!
Now, after driving 2,000+ miles from California to Indiana, this couple is ready to tie the knot surrounded by family and friends.
