David and Cassie met for the first time on June 11th, 2022, at Reading Rocks climbing gym, where they went on a double date with Aaron and Emily. Cassie knew Aaron, as he is her best friend and rock-climbing partner, and David and Emily are brother and sister. It was Aaron and Emily's idea to set up David and Cassie.

David went into this date sight unseen and without any climbing experience, and Cassie had only seen a few Facebook photos before meeting David. The first date was great! The most memorable moment was at the end of the date, when David asked Cassie how he could be praying for her.

Since David was still living in Maryland at this point, they arranged phone calls after the first date to continue to get to know each other. For the second date, David and Cassie met in the middle at the Baltimore Aquarium. They had a great time and looked forward to David's trip home for the Fourth of July weekend. That weekend, they spent all of their time together hiking, picnicking, and enjoying fireworks displays. It was July 3rd that David asked Cassie to be his girlfriend! The two have been pretty much inseparable ever since!

David moved back to Pennsylvania in June 2023, which really allowed the relationship to flourish. By November 2023, they would be engaged to be married, and couldn't be happier!
