It all started on move-in day of sophomore year. While unpacking with my roommates, we noticed a group of guys who lived right across the street. One of my friend’s dads wasted no time walking over to introduce himself to them. A few days later, there was a knock at the door — Mason and his buddies inviting us over to hang out. That was the very first time I met Mason.
Not long after, Mason DM’d me on Instagram asking for my Snapchat. I, of course, had to play a little hard to get… for about three months. In that time, Mason asked me on multiple dates, recruited his friends to check in on what I was thinking, and even messaged a few of my friends to see if I was ever going to give him a chance! Finally, in November, I said yes to that first date.
By December, we were already meeting each other’s families, and the rest is history. From across-the-street neighbors to now planning forever together — we wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you, Jesus, for putting us right where we needed to be!
It started when me and the roommates noticed some pretty girls moving in across the street from us at Troy. I mentioned to them, “the blonde one looks really pretty” and Grayson thought it might be this girl in his class from last year named Cassi. That weekend we threw a baseball party, and the roommates and I went over and knocked on their door to ask if they wanted to come. The only one who didn’t answer the door was Cassi. They ended up walking over and we all talked, which was the first time Cassi and I met.
The next weekend, we threw another baseball party, and I decided to DM Cassi on Instagram to invite her and her friends over. They ended up coming over, and that night was the first time we actually spent time together, and when I knew she might be the one. Since we were neighbors, we always saw each other. We threw the football, watched movies, but we never hung out alone. I spent the next 2-3 months trying to ask her on dates, text her, and basically do anything to try and make Cassi more than a friend. It took one day for me to finally say, “Enough. Let’s either do this thing or not,” and she agreed to go all in.
Once we met each other’s families, we were officially dating and the rest is history. I thank the Lord every day for putting Cassi into my life!
