Her Point Of View 

The first time I ever saw Nate I was sitting on my couch in New York City, it was the summer of 2020, I was going into my 2nd year at musical theater school. My school was posting the incoming classmates and as soon as I saw Nate’s picture my jaw dropped! I said “who is THAT!” I immediately called my friend Kyler who was in my class because I found out they had been childhood best friends and I wanted the inside scoop. I told him I thought Nate was beautiful and he should put it in a good word for me. Kyler went on to hype his homie up and said we would make a great couple… if Nate didn’t already have a girlfriend. So that door felt pretty slammed shut.  I officially met him at IAMT! The school was buzzing because it was the end of the first week and a new guy had just arrived! It was during Covid so we all had masks on and I was in a group of people where Kyler quickly introduced Nate to all of us one at a time. It was so brief, I figured he wouldn’t remember me. I didn’t really have time to get a solid first impression but I remember thinking he had the cutest curly hair and the kindest eyes.  We became mutual friends and kept each other at arms length for a while. I would try to talk to him here and there but he had major “I have a girlfriend vibes” - which I honestly respected a lot. I got to see bits and pieces of his personality from afar. He was loyal, funny, sweet, and genuine.  We stayed friends for over a year until the summer of 2021! During this summer we both played understudies for a broadway workshop and he was now single! Both of us didn’t have much to do and were sat next to each other in every rehearsal. This is when we really had an opportunity to get to know each other as friends. We had an instant chemistry and it was like we had known each other our whole lives. We matched each other’s energy and had the same sense of humor. We just laughed all the time and had so many inside jokes. He made rehearsals so fun!  During that summer he came over to my apartment every single day. We would stay up until 4am talking about our childhood, family dynamics, dreams, goals, fears, past relationships, everything! Still “just friends” but the more I learned about him the more I was falling head over heels.  We discovered that there were SO many similarities between us. I felt like he was the male version of me in a lot of ways. We had very different upbringings, however the way we saw life was almost identical. We both shared so much passion and lust for life and human connection. We even have the exact same amount of siblings, all the same age. We are both the youngest of 4. That is just one of the many coincidences between us. We understood each other on a level we didn’t know was possible. It was so clear we were kindred spirits. Cut from the same cloth.  My favorite memories with him was when we would go to the roof of my apartment, look at all the city lights and talk about life. I had never met a guy, that could have such deep, meaningful, and intellectual conversations. He was so emotionally intelligent, humble, and charismatic. I was completely in awe of him. It was one of the best summers of my life. I’ll never forget how giddy we were to just be in each other’s presence every day. It was such a magnetic connection.  As most of you know, I was never very boy crazy. My main priority was always career focused and I didn’t put too much energy into being in a relationship. After my last relationship ended, I made a list of all the qualities I would want in my “dream man”, from his looks to his personality and hobbies. (This was in high school before I ever even knew of Nate.) When Nate and I started to get to know one another I quickly realized, he checked every single one of those boxes. He truly was a dream come true and someone I thought only existed in rom coms. I manifested him!! As much as I tried to fight it, I could not run away from this love. I knew it was once in a lifetime and what I had always wanted.  All summer we were “just friends… BEST friends. Purely platonic.” I was so scared of getting my heart broken, but by the end of the summer it was undeniable. I was bursting at the seams to tell him how I felt. Everyone around us could feel the love we had for each other and they were begging us to just do something about it already!!  Finally, on September 30th, 2021, we confessed our feelings to each other and shared our first kiss in my NYC apartment. On October 2nd, we had our first official date where we went and got crepes! On October 5th, he asked me to be his girlfriend! 2 weeks after that we said I love you.  We continued to live in NYC for 2 years, then in 2023 we decided to move back to the “West Coast Best Coast” closer to where we are both originally from! It was a huge leap of faith to leave our community we had built in New York and start completely fresh in a new place across the country. Our love grew even more when we held each other’s hands through that experience and got to move in together for the first time! We got a cute little apartment in Huntington Beach, a block away from the ocean. We got a dog shortly after, our sweet Ledger Bear. Everything really fell into place and we love our life in CA.  This past summer, the summer of 2024, we went back to NYC to visit friends after a year of moving away and on August 19 he pulled off the greatest surprise of all time and proposed to me on the roof of my old apartment building where our story first began. It was such a full circle moment to promise forever to each other in the place where we first fell in love, surrounded by the people who were there for it all! I will cherish that day forever. I still can’t believe he was able to surprise me and that it was better than anything I could’ve dreamt of. He is so amazing.  Our love story is my favorite.  I can’t wait to marry the love of my life, my person, my absolute best friend, and my soulNATE. He truly is everything I’ve ever envisioned my husband to be and so much more. I can’t imagine life without him, he makes every day full of fun and endless joy. He is the light of my whole world. I love you endlessly, Nate!  If you’re reading this it means that you have been an integral part of our relationship. We want our wedding to be intimate and just close family and friends. We are so grateful for you and the role you have played in our story. We can’t wait to celebrate our love on October 5th - Our wedding day and our 4 year anniversary ♡

His Point Of View

The first time I met Cassia, was in 2020, at the top of the IAMT stairs, on my first day of school. I had just moved to NYC, and the only person I knew there was my Best Man, Kyler. He, fortunately enough, had already attended school for a year, and had developed a great friendship with Cass. So of course, that first day, he introduced us— not one on one, but as part of a group. He went down the line of other students, and about half way through the group was the real life, living embodiment of Meg from Hurcules. Beautiful brown eyes, long curly hair, curvy exterior, and a bright… blue mask covering the rest of her face. Even with the lingering mystery of what could be hidden underneath that mask, Cassia had officially caught my eye.  Now, unfortunately at that point in time, I was still in a committed relationship, so of course, as I had said, Cassia DID catch my eye, but I recognized immediately that she could be dangerous for me, and so I proceeded to talk to, and get to know, everyone at the school, building many friendships and good standings with my fellow students… except for Cass. I kept my distance from her like she was the walking Coronavirus, all because I knew getting to know her would absolutely change my whole world. And so yeah, that continued on for the ENTIRE first year of school… Until Summer of 2021!  My previous relationship had come to an end, and I was just about to start rehearsals for this Summer Broadway Workshop I was cast as a lead understudy in, when lo and behold, so was Cassia! She made that experience one that is now filled with SO many positive memories. We sat next to each other every day of rehearsals, talking, passing drawings back and forth, and truly getting to know each other for the first time. By the end of that whole experience, I knew for certain: I’d definitely caught feelings for this beautiful woman.  We continued to spend days on end together, staying up until the early AM hours each night, talking, and watching old Disney Channel movies, really diving into each others hearts and the things that happened in our lives that led us to be who we were at that point— who we truly felt we were to our deepest core— all under the guise of just being “friends”. One of those good ol, purely platonic, “friendships”. Now this routine went on for about 3 months, and all of our closest friends CLEARLY knew we both had feelings for each other, but neither of us wanted to say it out loud in fear that it might not be fully reciprocated or that maybe we’d ruin the friendship. But finally, on September 30th, 2021, the truth came out! We told each other how we felt about one another, and in one brief moment, accidentally scarred Cass’s roommate Kammie by her unexpectedly witnessing our first kiss in their living room apartment! *sorry Kammie* After that night, I officially asked Cass out on our first date! We get crepes at a crepe shop uptown a little ways from her apartment a few days later, and then after a few more days had gone by, I officially asked Cassia to by my Girlfriend October 5th 2021!  Getting to know Cassia during that summer and into the fall of 2021 was the greatest summer of my life. Those deep talks, long nights into early mornings, and all of the vulnerable openness we shared together will always and forever live in my heart, and continue to be a reminder of why I fell so far into love with such a uniquely beautiful soul. Cass checked every box I never knew I needed in a woman, and I am the luckiest man for it!  We continued to date all through the remainder of 2021, and the entirety of 2022, and then just at tail end of that year, we had the craziest idea to move in together in 2023! But not only just move in together, but move all the way across the country to the beautiful state of CA, where we literally knew like the smallest of smallest handful of people, with absolutely no jobs or prospects on the horizon, and no freaking idea of what our lives were going to look like once we actually got out there… and then add on top the fact that we were going to be living together for the very first time! Absolutely insane, but man did it work out even better than I could’ve imagined!?! We got a perfect little 1 bedroom apartment in Surf City’s, Huntington Beach, met a great group of people through our one singular connection in HB, and got plugged into jobs with wonderful people in creative and enjoyable atmospheres! We struck gold!!  Now, May of 2024. Almost a full year since moving to CA. I had a life changing idea… while watering grass at my job… that I was going to propose to Cassia when we went out to NYC that August. The idea had crossed my mind plenty of times before, but something about that day specifically, I just knew it was the right time. I spent the next 3ish months secretly planning my proposal with oh so many people closest to Cass, hoping and praying she wouldn’t find out somewhere along the way, if we could just make it to our NYC trip! And then, just like that, the day had come! August 19th, 2024 was, and is to date, the single greatest day of my life! Virtually everything went according to plan, nothing was spoiled, everyone played their parts perfectly, and Cass had ZERO idea! I proposed on the rooftop of her old NYC apartment building, and by the powers that be, I was able to keep it a secret all the way to the end, and pulled off the greatest surprise of my entire life!  When Cassia said yes, I knew my world would be changed forever, and that I would forevermore be walking forwards in life with the woman I love by my side! I’ve never been so happy in my life, and I truly cannot wait to spend the rest of my life, loving and growing old with, the gorgeous woman I started building a foundation with, in that NYC apartment, during a worldwide pandemic, while singing every single word to every single Disney Channel Movie, because I know that no matter what, she is my bestest friend, my greatest accomplishment, my stunning bride to be, and my, without a doubt, forever Soulmate. I love you Cassia!
