During Covid lock down in 2020 a few friends got together for a weekly video chat and some online games. A few new faces were in that group who had never crossed paths before, yet had mutual friends for years! Once restrictions started to lift we got to meet in person and continued to hang out while Derek patiently taught Cassia to ride a motorcycle! Since then we have had many adventures and look forward to so many more!

Q: Where is the wedding taking place? A: The ceremony and reception location will all take place at Upside Cider in Kelowna BC. Q: What time is the ceremony? What time is the reception? A: The ceremony will start at 3:00pm, we encourage all guests to arrive 30 mins prior to find a a seat. Q: What is the dress code? What should I wear? A: The dress code for our wedding is somewhere between casual-cocktail. Wear something you’re comfortable in—button-up shirts, long flowy dresses, or whatever brings you joy. Since our ceremony will take place outdoors on grass, we recommend avoiding pointy high heels. Q: What weather should I expect? A: Weather at the end of June in Kelowna is expected to be sunny and warm, around 25-30 degrees. Of course, we can’t guarantee anything, so please keep an eye on the weather in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and have your sunscreen ready! Q: Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors? A: The ceremony will take place outdoors. The reception will be held indoors for the meal and start of the party in the room on the right side of the entrance (ground floor). During the evening, both indoor and outdoor spaces will be available to our guests to mingle and play games. Q: What should I expect after the ceremony? A: After the ceremony, the bride and groom will be taking photos with friends and family around the property. We would encourage our guests to stay close on site, grab a drink and an appetizer inside, mingle, and be ready for your photo with us! After photos, we plan to head indoors for food and more! Q: Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue? A: We are not providing any formal transportation for the event, but our ceremony and reception are taking place in the same space. There is ample (free) parking for those who feel comfortable driving, and calling a cab or Uride is a great option for those who don’t. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink. Q: Are there other wedding events I can attend? A: Nothing is planned at this time. Q: How do I RSVP? A: We sure hope you’ll be able to join us for your special day, you can RSVP right on our website, see our RSVP page! OR through your emailed invitation! Q: When is the RSVP deadline? A: Please get us your RSVP by May 31st, 2025. Q: Can I bring my kids? Will there be a babysitter? A: We’ve chosen to limit our guest list to those only named on the invitations. We hope you understand. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Q: Can I bring my partner or a plus one? A: Due to space limitations and a desire to keep our wedding day as intimate as possible, we are not accommodating additional guests outside of those listed on the invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out to us. Q: I can’t attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration? A: Unfortunately there will not be a virtual stream of our wedding ceremony for guests who can’t be with us in person. Q:&nbsp;Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay? A: At this time we do not have a hotel block anywhere, however there are a few great options very close by to our venue if interested, please see our page the finer details for those recommendations. Q: Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible? A: Yes, to a degree, everything in our venue is wheelchair accessible. Keeping in mind the ceremony will be on the grass, a very short flat walk (approx 50 meters) to the left of the main parking lot. The reception (indoor) room is also located on the ground floor, with washrooms located just behind that have wheelchair friendly stalls. Q: What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception? A: We’ll be serving light snacks and meal, family/buffet style following the ceremony. The food will be a selection of Upside's regular menu items (charcuterie, pizza, fried chicken, salad, etc.). Dessert TBD. Q: I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you? A: We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day, please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary needs. Q: Will there be an open bar? A: Guests will be given a set amount of drink tickets to redeem for drinks. Once drink tickets are used up, guests will be able to purchase additional drinks at their own expense. Q: Are you registered? Where should we ship your gift? A: We will not be registering for gifts, however if you would like to contribute to our honeymoon fund we would greatly appreciate that! Q: Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media? A: We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from taking photos during the ceremony, we’d like that time to be unplugged. For the rest of the wedding, we encourage guests to post pictures using an app that will be provided on the tables so we can see them, too! No theme or colours are set.     CHILDREN/PLUS ONE'S We love your children however, our venue space is limited, and as such we ask that only those children or plus ones are invited if named.
