There was a young man and a young girl, searching for a partner and as we all know, nowadays online dating is not an uncommon way of meeting that special someone. John and I had both made an account on a dating app called Bumble, and before you know it, we both had "swiped right" on each other! Now on Bumble, the girl HAS to message the guy first and if you know me at all, I am pretty shy and reserved. I sat there and sat there and sat there thinking "What clever, flirty thing can I say to stand out to this guy named John?" After thinking for quite some time this was the best I came up with ... "Hi :)" But hey, it worked because before I knew it, John and I were talking almost daily and really hit it off. We finally planned a first date to get dinner and see a movie (so typical). A funny part of our story, is because I didn't know if John was a weirdo or not (I obviously was hoping he wasn't), I wrote his name, number, and where we were going on a post it note, and gave it to my mom in case I sent an SOS text message - the best part is, she still has it to this day - almost 4 years later! We had 2 dates, and then the lovely pandemic hit, and the world basically shut down, and because I was in healthcare surrounded by COVID, I didn't want to get john nor his parents sick, so our dates for months included facetime Netflix dates by hitting play of a movie at the same time and spending time together that way until COVID settled down. After that really is history. John and I spent days fishing (him being very patient and teaching me how to fish), spending time outside doing other activities, and really just spending quality time getting to know each other more and more each day. The year 2023, I graduated RN school and moved to Lakeville to settle into John's townhome that he had purchased in 2020. John finally popped the question the week of Thanksgiving 2023 and of course I said yes, because here we are planning our wedding! We enjoy fishing, golfing (although, I typically just watch), being with our favorite Frenchie in the whole world, Jax, introducing a new pet into the household, Berkley who is a bearded dragon, and pursuing our goals and dreams in our careers as John being a project manager at Specialty Systems and me being an RN at Fairview Ridges Hospital. We are looking forward to continuing our life together and extending our story even more as husband and wife!
