A Love Story: The Night They Met 

It all began on June 4th, 2021, at Beverly Hills Tavern, an outdoor restaurant and bar, in Berks County, Pennsylvania. Cassidy had just graduated from FIT, and returned home to PA from New York City, to celebrate with friends and family. Jovan, who was living in California at the time, happened to be home visiting family.That night, fate brought them to the same place! Cassidy noticed a new face sitting at the outside bar. He had tattoos, curly hair, and had an energy and smile that instantly caught her attention. Without hesitation, she walked up, held out her hand, and said, “Hi, I’m Cassidy.” And just like that, everything changed. What started as a simple hello, quickly became something more—the beginning of their love story! Here is a photo of Jovan Snapchatting Cassidy “Hey” the day after they met! Cassidy Visits Jovan in California - July 2021

Jovan’s duty in the Air Force had called him back to California, leaving Cassidy and Jovan with a feeling of the unknown. Would they ever see each other again? And if so, when? But fate had other plans—her family had booked a vacation to California, and as soon as she saw the itinerary, she knew she had to take a special flight to see Jovan. When she finally stepped off the plane, the rush of excitement and nervous anticipation made her heart pound.Jovan and Cas shared several incredible days together.&nbsp;Saying goodbye to Jovan was harder than she had imagined, and the thought of not knowing when they’d be together again made every step back to her family feel heavier. They were both falling for each other and enjoying time spent together. Cassidy cried for days not knowing when she would see Jovan again.

The Weekend They Fell in Love - Aug 2021

One weekend in August of 2021, Jovan visited Cassidy in New York City for the first time—and everything changed that weekend. It was Cassidy’s first EDM concert, a genre Jovan already loved and was excited to share with her. They fell in love to the music of Illenium, an artist who now holds a special place in their hearts. So special, in fact, that one of his songs played during their engagement.

We Made it Official; September 30th 2021

Cassidy and Jovan officially started dating on September 30th, 2021. From that moment on, they couldn’t get enough of each other. With Cassidy in New York City and Jovan in California, they spent the next year in a long-distance relationship, flying back and forth to be together. It wasn’t always easy, but each visit was filled with unforgettable memories. As challenging as the distance was, it only made their relationship stronger, and nothing compared to the feeling of stepping off a plane and seeing each other.

Charleston Bound - Feb 2023

After more than a year of long distance, Cassidy and Jovan decided it was time to finally live together. Jovan had just completed his time in the military, and the two found job opportunities in Charleston. This was the beginning of their next chapter. They spent a year building a life there, but over time, Cassidy realized how much she missed home—and the energy of living in a city.

Moving to Philly!!! 

In October 2024, Cassidy received a job offer in Philadelphia—and couldn’t wait to start this new adventure. Jovan found a job there as well, which was perfect for a huge Eagles fan like him. Everything fell into place, and they were beyond excited to begin this next chapter in a city so close to home.

The ENGAGEMENT!!!!!! 

On December 14th, 2024, Jovan proposed to Cassidy in the most unforgettable way. The engagement took place at Rockefeller Center in New York City. Jovan arranged to have the entire ice rink shut down for the proposal, while their favorite Illenium song played in the background. As if that wasn’t already perfect, Cassidy’s friends and family were all there to surprise her, making the moment even more magical. It was truly the happiest day of their lives.

Present time -  Planning a wedding!

Jovan and Cassidy are loving life in Philadelphia as an engaged couple. The Eagles have won the Super Bowl (go Birds!), and they’re having a blast planning their wedding. Cassidy recently said “yes” to the dress, surrounded by her sisters, mom, and closest friends! Cass and Jovan have officially chosen their venue at The Downtown Club in Old City Philadelphia. They’re savoring every moment of this special time and counting down the days until they say, “I do!"The best day of their lives is just around the corner, and they cannot wait to share their love for each other, one day before Valentine's Day. They are thrilled and excited to share this day with you!

If you choose to stay in Philadelphia for the evening(s) of Thursday, February 12th and/or Friday, February 13th, the Renaissance by Marriott Philadelphia Downtown Hotel and The Kimpton Hotel Monaco are the two hotels where rooms are blocked off for the Fernandez/Franco wedding.Both hotels are in walking distance from the venue (The Downtown Club) where the ceremony and reception are held.If your feet are tired from dancing all night, or if the February air is too cold, and you do not want to walk back and forth from your hotel room, no worries! Transportation will be offered to those staying at The Renaissance or at The Kimpton Monaco. ** Both hotels have a block booking deadline. Parking Garages 

If you are coming directly to Downtown club venue the closest parking garage is located at7th and Samson Street, there should be a parking attendant in this lot. If you are going to and staying at the Monaco Kimpton Hotel or Renaissance Hotel there is valet parking available or you can self-park the Bourse Garage at 46 S. 4th street which is right around the corner from the hotel, this would be the more affordable route.

Trolley Transportation

We have provided trolly transportation from both the Renaissance and the Kimpton, Monaco to the wedding venue, The Downtown Club. The first pick up will take place at 3:30 and the second pick up will be at 3:50. If you are takin advantage of the trolley transportation, please be in your hotel lobby 5 minutes prior to the departure time. Beginning at 9:30 p.m., the trolley will once again begin taking people back to their hotel if desired. The trolley will make runs beginning from 9:30 pm and continue until the wedding reception ends. Also note you can walk from the Downtown club to either hotel as it is less than a 10 minute walk.
