Robert and Cass met in the small town of Blacksburg, VA, where Robert was born and raised and where Cass was primarily raised. Both went to Blacksburg High School. Robert was two years older than Cass, and neither was familiar with the other. Cass went to Radford University (RU) after graduation from high school. At the same time, Robert had started at community college and then transitioned to Radford University shortly after Cass (the stalking began, jk).

After working in DC as a hematology/oncology/BMT nurse, Cass returned to Blacksburg to complete the rest of her doctoral training through Duke University. Shortly after her return, Cass joined her friends Keegan and David at the annual Summer festival, "Steppin' Out." While at one of the local bars having dinner, Keegan received a text from Robert, a friend she met in high school marketing class, asking if "her blonde friend was single," not so smooth, haha. Cass and Robert were introduced at a bar in downtown Blacksburg, Champs. Cass decided to leave but "forgot" to say goodbye because it had already been an eventful night. Robert eagerly reached out to Keegan, asking for Cass' contact information, and shortly after, Cass and Robert went on their first date at El Rodeo. Their date went better than expected; the conversation flowed like they had known each other for years. Eventually, Robert got the courage to seal the deal by asking, "Do you want to make this a thing or something?" Yes, he needs to work on his game.

After graduating from Duke University and passing her PNP boards, Cass was offered her first NP job at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Robert and Cass decided to embark on this vast life opportunity together. The two moved to Memphis. Cass rolled up to the house in a panic attack, bawling her eyes out, and Robert, on the other hand, rolled up, blasting "Walking in Memphis." It was an adjustment at first, but it continues to be; they both very much miss their family. They have worked hard to establish themselves both individually and within their relationship. Many memories and growing pains pushed them forward (while Cass awaited a proposal). For Cass' 27th birthday, Robert booked a "treehouse" in GA/TN for the two of them. On the LAST night of the trip (after Cass burnt the pizza in the pizza maker- and probably ruined it), Robert FINALLY got down on one knee and asked Cass to marry him.

Robert and Cass are so excited to celebrate their love for each other with their family and loved ones. They look forward to taking the next step together and facing any challenges. Thank you all for your support and love for Cass and Robert. LETS CELEBRATE!
