Our Wedding

Cassidy and Paul met in August of 2020. Cassidy had just graduated college in May and was taking a year off of school at home in Morris, IL before heading to graduate school. While applying to graduate schools, she was working at a physical therapy clinic and serving/bartending at a local favorite restaurant- Greenhorn. Paul happened to be on a job in Morris for a few months that summer, so he and his work buddies would come in and sit at the bar for dinner often. Apparently, Paul had came in a few times when Cassidy was working before he worked up the courage to ask her out. One evening he came in alone and ordered a few White Russians before he ordered the best Ahi Tuna appetizer. The two got to talking about how they both love sushi. Paul then asked if he could take Cass to her favorite sushi restaurant in Ottawa, B.A.S.H., even when she was still wearing a mask serving him. Before she could answer, Paul left and didn't leave any of his information behind. Well, Cass got some input from her co-workers and decided to find his info on his credit card receipt and added him on Facebook. Soon after, Paul messaged Cass and they ended up on that sushi date. But before that date, he couldn't wait to see her and they went to Minooka Creamery the day before. From then on, they both knew this was forever. From finishing the job in Morris living in a camper, to renting a tiny apartment in Morris when he finished that job, to moving to Marion, Indiana with Cass to get her Doctorate in Physical Therapy, Paul has chased Cass anywhere and everywhere and has given everything he has to the relationship. Paul spends hours driving back and forth to job sites that are now much farther away than they used to be and always strives to make it home every weekend. Shortly after moving to Marion, the two rescued their beautiful pup Iris. Though she has had her fair share of health problems, she is a huge part of their family and they love her dearly. She comforts Cass when Paul is gone for work and she loves to see new places and go on new adventures. Since the two have been together, they have traveled to the Florida Keys, Breckenridge and Denver Colorado, Clearwater Florida, downtown Chicago, La Crosse Wisconsin, Nashville Tennessee, Mexico, and on a Western Caribbean Cruise (Mexico, Belize, Honduras). They plan to continue traveling and experience new places and foods together. Paul proposed to Cass on their trip to Mexico on August 22, 2022. This trip was nothing short of amazing. Cass never imagined how she would feel having someone get down on a knee and ask her to spend forever together until this moment. This was the easiest decision she had ever made. They will definitely be returning to the Xcaret Arte resort in Riviera Maya sometime in the future. We are so grateful to God for each other and supportive friends and family. We cannot wait to celebrate with you and start this new adventure together.&nbsp;

Air Bnb  rental homes 

We highly recommend booking an Air Bnb home if you are looking for a relaxed and unique experience. We have created a wishlist called "Wedding" on Air Bnb with possible rentals for you to browse (linked below). There are homes within the Carbondale/Basalt area that accommodate anywhere from 2 guests to 12 guests. Most are pet-friendly (be sure to read the details if you are deciding to bring furry friends). If you choose to go the Air Bnb route, it will be cheaper if you group up with other guests. You will be able to find a home that accommodates everyone's needs- and they are all beautiful! Feel free to find your own rental home not provided on the list. We recommend searching Air Bnb or Vrbo and entering your filters to narrow down your search. There are a variety of hotels in Aspen-Snowmass if you would like to be closer to the Maroon Bells trails (ceremony location) and downtown Aspen. These hotels tend to be more expensive as Aspen is a smaller luxury town. It is recommended to stay outside of Aspen toward Carbondale/Basalt and plan a day to spend in Aspen if you want to check it out. Though the ceremony is in Aspen, the reception will take place in Carbondale. Keep in mind Carbondale is about an hour from Aspen, so if you stay here you will have to drive that distance at the end of the evening! There are also a variety of hotels in Glenwood Springs, CO, which is a bit further from Carbondale and Aspen. If you would like help finding a place to stay in Aspen or Glenwood, let us know.

Independence Pass, part of Colorado State Highway 82, passes over the Continental Divide between Leadville and Aspen, Colorado with a summit os 12,095 ft. In addition to being a scenic byway, Independence Pass, just east of Aspen, is a favorite recreation location during the summer months. It is about 32 miles long and takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour-and-a-half with stops along the way to enjoy the scenic views. It twists around stunning groves of aspen trees and hugs the Roaring Fork River. The road is steep, narrow, and twisty with only a few guardrails. It is completely safe, but drivers must follow the speed limit and drive with caution.&nbsp;No commercial motor vehicles, camper trailers, recreational or similar vehicles are allowed. <a href="http://aspenhistory.org/tours-sites/independence-ghost-town/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Independence Ghost Town:&nbsp;</a>16 miles east&nbsp;of Aspen is the historic ghost town of Independence. Once a thriving mining town with over 40 businesses and an estimated population of 1,500, today you can view the remains of miner's cabins, the Farewell Stamp Mill, Stables, and the General Store. Also includes Easy, Moderate, or Hard hiking trails if you don't want to take the scenic driving route.

The peak of&nbsp;<a href="https://aspenchamber.org/explore/recreation/skiing-snowboarding/aspen-mountain" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Aspen Mountain</a>&nbsp;is 11,212 feet. Whether you are visiting in summer or winter a trip to the top of the mountain on the Silver Queen Gondola will include spectacular views and delicious food, and is a must while you are in town.&nbsp;1 single sight-seeing ticket is $35.
