November 2018 our mutual friend brought us together over the phone, bridging the distance between Dayton and Sandusky. We were young and skeptical about what could come from a long-distance connection. But the universe seemed to have other plans! Reid soon ventured to meet Cass’s family, and Cass made the trip to meet Reids. That three-hour drive was a small obstacle within our relationship.

While Reid was busy in his first year of nursing school, playing baseball for Clark State. Cass was finishing up her final year of high school and looking into college. In August of 2019 Reid transferred to Cedarville University where he played baseball and studied nursing. During his first year at Cedarville, Cass would travel the 6 hour round trip drive every week to spend time with Reid and watch him play baseball. August of 2020, that 3 hour drive turned into a 25 minute drive as Cass started her journey at Wright State University. Soon enough Cass and the “baseball girlfriends” were traveling around the United States to watch Reid and our friends play!

Between then and now we would spend our summers long distance and our school year together. This was difficult at times, but we continued to push through. December 26, 2022 Reid proposed to Cass at the Cincinnati Zoo Lights. Since then, Reid graduated with his BSN, and is now an RN at DCH and Cass will graduate in April with her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education. Reid and Cass have been extremely lucky to have each other through the good and bad. A three-hour drive became such a small obstacle as we’ve grown together. Now, we are so excited to celebrate our forever with all of you!
