Gelsosomo's is a great local pizza place, central in Valpo, near lots of shopping. There is also a location in Chesterton as well, if you are staying closer to that side of town.

Right in downtown Valpo, this is a wonderful place to stop for a cup of coffee!

Red Cup is a local favorite and a great place for coffee, smoothies, and food!

Formerly called Taltree Arboretum, this is a beautiful place to walk around if you are looking for a peaceful location to get out to.

A local favorite, Coffee Creek is a preserve near downtown Chesterton with beautiful views, trails, and picnic tables.

This is my favorite gift shop/boutique ever! Christmas items all year round and really unique finds. If you need a shopping break, I would definitely recommend. This is also in downtown Chesterton next to a bunch of other cute shops and restaurants.

Get out and about and check out VU while you are in town! It is right by the Best Western if you are staying there.
