Cassie and Brock's love story begins way back in 2016 during Brock’s freshman year of college. Brock and Cole (Cassie's brother) were in the same speech class, and they chose to sit next to each other because, as they both put it, "he looked friendly." Their professor assigned them to write a speech on the person sitting next to them. Brock wrote a speech about Cole and to this day still has the presentation in his Google Drive with pictures of Cole's family, including an awkward picture of Cassie from sophomore year of high school. Little did he know, that girl would be his wife someday. They met briefly when Cassie would visit Cole at St. Ambrose, but they never got to talk much. They didn't officially start talking until 2021 when Cole booked a party bus for his birthday and they bonded over their love of early 2000s hits. Brock (who claims he was being discreet) added Cassie on Snapchat after the party, and they started texting. Brock invited Cassie and Ava to Friendsgiving that next month, and what really sold Cassie was Brock's dad offering to take her on a cruise (just kidding). They unfortunately both caught COVID for the first time that same weekend, but it was a blessing in disguise because they spent the Thanksgiving holiday facetiming each other while they were in isolation. Brock finally got up the nerve to ask Cassie out, and their first date was at a local pub in St. Charles followed by swimming with their friends. Brock asked Cassie to be his girlfriend later that night and the rest is history!
