Cassie- We met on Hinge (a dating app). After my 3rd knee surgery, I was bored and on pain meds. So, I decided it would be a great idea to try to meet someone. Nolan’s profile said he was from Windsor. According to him, he had to lie about where he lived to match with people he didn’t already know. He didn’t tell me where he actually lived until the night before our first date. I had to look up where Yuma was! When I saw it was almost 3 hours away, I thought there was absolutely no way I could do it. I felt bad canceling the night before, so I decided I’d meet him, get some free food, and then find a nice way to tell him I couldn’t do long distance.

Nobody will be surprised to hear Nolan arrived 15 minutes early, and I arrived 15 minutes late to Blue Moon Brewery the next day. Nolan sat at a booth by himself for 30 minutes, but once I finally got there, we had a great time. I was surprised by how much I liked him! I got home and told my roommate about him and she said “this is the best date review I’ve ever heard from you! Looks like you’re going to Yuma.” Another friend met Nolan a few weeks after we started dating, and on the drive home she texted me, “Don’t freak out, but I think you’re going to marry him.”

We ended up taking turns making the 6 hour round trip between Denver and Yuma every weekend for a year and a half! Nolan proposed on October 7, 2023 in Laguna Beach, CA and we’re both very excited for me to finally move to Yuma.
