Our Story

It's All In The Timing

Her Perspective:
Those who know me well know that it would drive me nuts when someone told me, “You’ll meet your person when you least expect it.” Now, I simply laugh at that because they were 1000 percent right. What started as an, “I’m bored, pull up your online dating app and I’ll connect it to the TV.” during a visit with my college roommate and now bridesmaid, turned into the beginning of our story that I couldnt have written better if I tried. I always prayed for someone who would pursue me and leave no doubt in my mind of their intentions. With Colton, I never questioned. He is the definition of Christ centered and servant hearted. He was also the most patient when I was still getting comfortable with letting someone in and letting my walls down. He let me go at my own pace and jokes that like the walls of Jericho, he had to march around before they came down. One example of how I knew he was different was early on when he dropped me off after a date, I drove across the street to a Taco Bell to use the restroom before driving back to Harrison. Instead of him pulling out right behind me and heading home, he watched from across the street until I made it back to my car safely. He did this without making it known to me and didn’t think I even noticed, but I did. Long distance hasn’t been easy, but we have made the most of each weekend we have had together and have so many amazing memories from this past year and a half. God has been present every step of the way and I can’t wait for the rest of forever!

His Perspective:
A little grace and Gods timing is an amazing thing. Our story started out at the Branson Landing, wining and dining at Cantina Laredo. I remember being a nervous man that evening, not because stunning woman across the table; but that I might have shown up 20 or so minutes late to the first date. I had to make a stop before making my way down to Branson and I was worried that as a result I was going to make a bad first impression. But those who know Cassie can attest that she is one of the kindest hearted individuals you could ever hope to meet and I was fortunate enough she showed me grace that evening. We talked the night away, played games at the arcade, and just focused on getting to know one another while sharing stories. As our date was starting to come to a close I asked her if I could show her the reason why I was late. She agreed and we made our way to my truck. Leading up to the date I was excited to meet Cassie after sending several novel text messages to one another and I wanted to give her a gift on the first date. When we arrived to the truck I pulled out a floral arrangement that I had made for her. She happily received them with a blush and smile. I believe that was the moment where Cassie thought it would be okay to go on a second date with me. Several dates and one proposal later, I am now months away from getting to marry my best friend. We’ve shared countless laughs, made memory after memory, and gone on so many adventures together. I’m eager to see how our future chapters will unfold and how God will pen our story.
