It's a little removed from the action (though still only a short ride from the reception venue), but it is a brand new hotel! In an up and coming area of town, but less than a 5 minute ride to the heart of town.

One of our favorite hotels in town, even to just pop in for a drink. The Dewberry is a luxury boutique hotel in the heart of the downtown Charleston boasting midcentury modern design. Their rooms, albeit on the smaller side, are well appointed with marble bathrooms and floor to ceiling windows exposing the skyline of the historic district. We love their downstairs bar, and if you are lucky enough to get in- their rooftop bar, that has the best views in all of Charleston.
Hotel Emeline is a boutique hotel in the heart of the historic district. The hotel is right next to the Charleston City Market, one of the nations oldest public markets. It is also on one of the loveliest streets and recommend visitors take a stroll down to take in the history of the city. Emeline is also two blocks from King Street, our main shopping district. I love their on-site restaurant, Frannie and the Fox, not only for their food, but for the atmosphere. I would argue that this area of Charleston is the most central and walkable!
