Our Wedding

Not often is a company slogan accurate, but for Cassie and David, Hinge was. "The app made to be deleted" was where they met in February 2021. Cassie was in college in Massachusetts planning to move back home and David was working in Trumbull. Of course, meeting during COVID with Cassie on a campus that was locked down, and David being a high risk person as a EMT, didn't make getting to know one another easy. But through two months of Zoom dates and phone calls that lasted hours (yes, somehow he convinced Cassie that a phone call wasn't torture) they slowly built their relationship. In between navigating careers, medic school, studying for certifications, volunteer work, part time jobs, and occasionally some sleep, Cassie and David realized they were really well matched in their priorities and interests. In their spare time, they can usually be found spending time with friends and family, at a local brewery, watching football, starting and never finishing a TV show that they plan on watching together, or planning their next adventure. Early 2024 they decided they were ready to take the next step and bought a house in Wolcott. After looking at countless open houses and endless conversations about what a dream house would have, they stumbled upon what they hope is their forever home. That's when David started planning the proposal Cassie always hoped for. On their annual trip to Nashville, in a beautiful botanical garden, David asked Cassie to marry him and she said yes. Needless to say, since then their spare moments have been consumed with wedding planning! They cannot wait to spend the day with their friends and family and hope everyone plans to have as much fun as they do when the big day comes!

Bailey and David met in college and over the years grew into each other's closest friend. Bailey can't pick any one favorite memory, but looks forward to any time he and David can get together or catch up with a phone call. Bailey says David is his go to person for anything from truly unbiased advice to an ear to vent to. Bailey hopes that David and Cassie always remember that while they might not be perfect, they are perfect for each other. If they strive to be better for each other every day, they will be able to overcome anything.

Eve and Cassie met their very first day at Babson during their dorm meet and greet, and their friendship has continued to build through navigating college, embracing adulting, exploring different countries, and countless other adventures. The first time Eve saw Cassie and David together, she said it was obvious that they balanced each other perfectly. She hopes Cassie and David will always be each other's safe haven, and encourages them to embrace the highs, weather the lows, and always celebrate the little moments with as much enthusiasm as the big ones. 

Pat and David have been friends since they were kids. Pat knew they would forever be friends when they stuck together playing the same video game 20-30 times before they were able to beat it, and neither of them even thought about giving up. It was at the end of the game that "House Donnelly, swore its allegiance to House Kent, now and always, until his dying day". Then after meeting Cassie for the first time, Pat knew that House Kent had found a rightful and just Queen. His words of wisdom for David: Cassie is always right. 

As daughters of two best friends it's not surprising Lydia and Cassie have grown up being super close. Childhoods filled with embarrassing stories have become fond memories and Lydia can't wait to include David in those moments going forward. When Lydia first saw Cassie and David together she immediately saw the love they had for each other and hoped they would choose to be together forever. She hopes Cassie and David always feel young and fun in their relationship no matter what life brings them or how much time passes.

Tommy and David have been friends since Tommy was born - that's what happens when two amazing families live across the street from each other. They have countless memories getting up to mischief around Newtown, but Tommy's favorite is when David was chasing James and ran right into a telephone pole. Tommy says when he first saw Cassie and David together that he knew everyone was going to be celebrating their wedding one day. He hopes the couple will cherish the little moments, celebrate each other’s strengths, and always face life’s challenges as a team.

Miranda and Cassie met in college and lived together their senior year. Through many late nights and competitive card games of Packs and Runs and Monopoly Deal, they built a close friendship. Miranda knows Cassie is very independent, so she has loved seeing how David takes care of her in all the little things. She said it was what stood out most when she first saw them together. She hopes the couple never underestimates the power of laughing together as there is no stronger tool in both happy times and challenging times.

Tom and David met in Junior Corp for the Newtown Fire Department. Tom fondly remembers the first time David handed him the nozzle at a car fire. Coincidentally, around 5 years later, Tom and David ended up working together at Danbury ambulance when someone decided they would be good partners. Tom says the first time he saw Cassie and David interact, it was like watching a married couple already, so he is not surprised we are here today.

Meg and Cassie met in their very first college class. Their friendship must have been meant to be - otherwise what would have made them think it was a good idea to sign up for 8am classes Monday through Thursday. Meg claims she was the first one with the inkling that David would be Cassie's forever. She hopes they have a long loving marriage filled with joy, laughter, and plenty of adventure. She reminds them that they are a team and together they can achieve anything. 

James describes his friendship with David as "a silly neighbor that got lucky to take this journey of life with David and the Kents". The echoes of James' childhood, and the vivid memories of Newtown, will forever be tied to the "Taunton’s Finest" crew—a bond led by his brother from across the street, David. When you see James at the wedding, make sure to ask him about his favorite memory with David. It is one that has to be heard for the full effect, not read. When James first saw Cassie and David together, he saw two people who will push themselves to be the best they can be, who can overcome any obstacle with determination and trust, and who will grow their love for one another throughout their journey. James hopes Cassie and David stay true to themselves and fully embrace the highs, the lows, and moments that feel like magic. 

James

Sam, as David's sister, always imagined what his future wife would be like, with a dream of being friends with her one day. Cassie and Sam are both happy to say that they get along as if they have been friends forever. Sam says that her first impression of Cassie was how naturally she fit in with the family. She hopes Cassie and David find joy, life, laughter, and excitement in the everyday adventures as much as the big adventures they choose to take and make together.
