We first met on the dating app, Hinge. Cassie thought he seemed cute and interesting. Greg thought she was beautiful, smart, and easy to talk to. (Clearly the Hinge algorithm works, because the app recommended the other to us!)


Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we couldn't meet up in person right away, so our first dates were virtual. We did things like cooking the same meal and watching movies at our respective homes.


When we finally did meet in person, we had sushi for dinner and watched the iconic cult classic movie, The Room. Cassie was pleasantly surprised when Greg asked her to be exclusive the very next day.

We got closer through our camping trips, hikes, and movie nights in. We took the next step when we moved in together to our place in DC in fall of 2020– this was truly a special and historic time to live in the District!

We next moved to a bigger place in Northern Virginia, and our family grew by one more when we brought home our golden retriever puppy, Tony.

In August 2021, we escaped for a long weekend to Smith Mountain Lake with Greg’s family for their annual vacation.


On the second day, Cassie and Greg set out on a hike with Tony. Next to the beautiful water, he asked her to find a rock to take home as a keepsake. She looked around on the ground but couldn’t find any that she liked. Behind her Greg said, “What about *this* rock?”


Cassie turned around to find Greg on one knee with a beautiful diamond engagement ring. She said yes!
