Of all the mystical, far-flung places these two deep-rooted, magnetic souls could have crossed paths—Tibet, the Amazon, a hidden temple in India—they met… on Hinge! Yes, in the great cosmic dance of destiny, a dating app became the portal to their love story.

Not long after, Catalina walked into one of Patrick’s yoga and devotional music workshops at a local cacao café, MayaMoon. As Patrick passed around the ceremonial cacao, Caty, with a twinkle in her eye, raised her hand and asked if she could share her own perspective on the sacred art of imbibing the ancient elixir. He was intrigued, to say the least.

The very next day, Patrick found himself at Catalina’s oceanfront home in Imperial Beach, and from that moment, something undeniable began. Their early days were a beautiful, intense unfolding—two old souls diligently “doing the work,” peeling back layers of fear, and bravely opening their hearts to love’s full embrace.

As their connection deepened, Catalina joined Patrick in his well-being retreat company, Flourish, and their relationship did just that—blossomed into something extraordinary. Through collaboration, they not only witnessed each other’s many gifts but amplified them, weaving their love into meaningful work that touched the lives of many.

Since then, they have led over a dozen transformational retreats (including adventures to Mexico, India, and Peru), created two feature-length documentary films, and planted their roots in a historical mid-century home on Mt. Helix. There, they have built a sanctuary—one filled with music, laughter, and the radiant energy of Catalina’s three magnificent daughters: Ivanna, Alanna, and Catyanna.

Their story is one of serendipity, devotion, and adventure—a testament to love’s ability to find us in the most unexpected places and guide us home.
