Cate and Andrew met in the summer of 2021 on a dating app (thanks Covid!) after a heated debate over who knew more trivia from the TV show, The Office. After what felt like forever to Cate, Andrew finally asked her to go on a date! They met at Rojo, a spot they now frequent for anniversaries and valentines dates. As cheesy as it sounds, they had the perfect first date. Conversation flowed effortlessly, like they had known each other for years. After the first date, they made plans for the next week but instead ended up seeing each other 5 times in the next 7 days! Needless to say, they were attached at the hip from that point on.

His favorite spots quickly became her favorite spots and vice versa. Then came annual trips to the State Fair and the apple orchard, along with countless visits to breweries, twins games, and of course walks around the neighborhood with their golden retriever Bennie.

Over the next 2+ years, they have made it a goal to always be each others biggest supporter. Whether it’s Andrew supporting Cate’s dance team she coaches, or Cate supporting Andrew’s softball league, they show up for one another. They challenge each other, and broaden the other’s horizons; her introducing romcoms and him introducing sci-fi movies. One of their biggest challenges and a goal they had together was to go skydiving on their 1 year anniversary. They both upheld this promise and on September 4th 2022, jumped out of a plane together! Every day, they continue to follow through on their promises to each other, though most are less dangerous than this one!

Andrew knew Cate had wanted him to propose for some time, and she even thought she was onto his plan. But he knew better, pivoted, and surprised her with a proposal even she couldn’t have dreamt of. On a sunny September afternoon with all of her best friends present, he proposed at her favorite spot, Schram winery. Cate is hard to surprise and Andrew worked so hard to pull off the perfect day!

To no one’s surprise, Cate got right to wedding planning and Andrew has been right there with her supporting and helping however he can, as he always does. The two of them are so excited to celebrate their love with all of you in September!
