Jake and Catherine met on the first day of Catherine’s promotion to supervisor at Union Drive Marketplace at ISU in October, 2013.

Catherine attempted to boss Jake around and he was a little shy. After she pestered him for over a month, he finally caved and agreed to go a group date to the hookah bar. Jake arrived sweaty and in a tie-die shirt with skateboard in hand, perfection in Catherine's eyes.

Catherine loved his quiet personality and his skater boy look. Jake loved her sense of humor, beauty, and her positive attitude.

Jake and Catherine have been through a lot together in their 10 year relationship. Most notably with the passing of both of Catherine’s parents, graduating ISU, and moving to Colorado to pursue their careers. They have always tried to have fun and ground each other in their relationship. The adoption of Zip on their 5 year anniversary was the best decision they ever made, even better than buying their first house!

Jake FINALLY proposed on New Years Eve, 2022 with a ring so big it snags in Catherine's hair, her dream ring! They can’t wait to celebrate this long overdue celebration with their friends and loved ones. GET READY TO PAAAAAAAARTY!!
