The story of Alex and Catherine begins in Seattle in 2019. Alex got invited to a party by one of his friends, Thomas. When he arrived he was led in by the most beautiful girl (Note: this is Catherine) he had ever seen. Alex and Catherine chatted a little at the party. Afterwards Alex asked Thomas "Hey what's that girl's situation?". Thomas responded solemnly "I think she has a boyfriend" :( (Note: Catherine did not have a boyfriend).

6 months went by with only a few interactions here and there. Eventually in the summer of 2020 Catherine invited Alex, among others, on a roadtrip to Mount Rainier. At Mount Rainier, Alex, still interested from 6 months before, tried chatting up Catherine while walking on the trail. Meanwhile, Catherine was trying to set up Alex with another girl on the trip. However Alex was not deterred and kept chatting up Catherine for the next couple months.

In the beginning of September 2021 Catherine went back to Texas to visit her family. Alex dropped her off at the airport. They ended up texting the whole time she was gone. When she got back they started hanging out and the rest is history.
