In July 2019, Andrew and his friends planned a float trip on the Guadalupe River. At the time, Catherine was living in New Braunfels and was asked to go by a mutual friend. That weekend she met Andrew and about 20 of his friends. They had a great time but didn’t get to talk to each other much that weekend!

Over the course of a year, Catherine traveled down to Houston, where Andrew lived at the time, to visit friends and family. They hung out at mutual friend gatherings and started to get to know each other more. At the next annual river trip, they hit it off and hung out most the time together! As they left the river trip, Andrew asked if they could meet up for a date in San Antonio the next week while he was in town for work. They ate at Southerleigh, next to the Pearl Brewery, and walked along the river. Catherine’s favorite memory is sitting under the F.I.S.H. Bridge and talking for hours. There’s a print of the bridge in their home to remember the night.

In January 2022, they adopted Rip from a local shelter in New Braunfels. He’s become their hairy child that goes everywhere and completes their little family.

Andrew moved from Houston to San Antonio to live with Catherine in the summer of 2022.
