Catherine and Jay met on May 17, 2022, at a networking event in Detroit, Michigan at the Detroit Athletic Club. They immediately had a connection, and decided to grab dinner together with their friends at Olin after the event.

After a fun dinner and drinks, they stayed in touch and slowly got to know each other while Catherine was studying for the bar exam. The future couple had their first date at Blackrock in Canton. Trying to play it cool, Jay asked Catherine to lunch “because he was over that way anyways.” When arriving at the hotel room before the bar exam, Catherine found flowers Jay delivered.

After the bar was over, Jay met Catherine and two of her friends for dinner and drinks to celebrate the end of the exam. That night, Jay and Catherine officially started dating. At the beginning of their relationship they enjoyed slowly getting to know each other by going to numerous family and friend events together, and several weddings.

It didn’t take long before they both said “this is it!” Catherine and Jay knew early on in their relationship that they were meant for each other and that this is the relationship each of them had been dreaming of and looking for.

On April 22, 2023, Catherine’s friend Brittany invited the couple to a double date that included dinner at the Detroit Athletic Club (where the couple met). Brittany called Catherine to cancel their plains due an “emergency,” but encouraged them to keep the dinner reservation. But this was part of Jay’s elaborate plan to surprise Catherine with a proposal. After dinner, they walked outside on the rooftop of the DAC. When they came back inside, they were engaged to be married.

Jay and Catherine have been happily counting down the days until their wedding. They are excited to celebrate with their friends and family. As excited as they are for their wedding, Catherine and Jay are even more excited to be married and share their lives together.
