Cathy and Aaron met for the first time at the Asian Bar Association Gala. Aaron crashed the party last minute and they were introduced by mutual friends. Neither of them realized that they had actually matched on a dating app several weeks before. Apparently, both of them "looked better in person."

After only several dates, Cathy invited Aaron to come camping with her friends at Pinnacles. Although she didn't know it at the time, that's how Aaron realized Cathy was really special--special enough for him to actually spend a night in a tent.

Aaron brought Cathy to New York to introduce her to his friends and show her around town for their first trip together. She showcased her skills in an escape room and karaoke bar, earning a thumbs up from his judgmental friends.

Cathy and Aaron venture to Iceland, where they enjoyed the geothermal spas and gorgeous scenery.

After a few days in Iceland, Cathy and Aaron flew to Paris. They enjoyed exploring the city and Bordeaux region. This was their first day, jumping straight from a redeye flight to a croissant baking class.

On a visit to a friend's wedding in Mendocino, Cathy and Aaron would fall in love with area and return again to go glamping the next year. On that subsequent trip in August 2020, they visited the Mendocino Coast Botanical Garden and knew immediately that this would be the location for their wedding.

2020's shelter-in-place allowed Cathy and Aaron to explore their creative sides and mutual hobbies. While Cathy threw intricate ceramics on the potter wheel, Aaron put paintbrush to paper. Together they skated down the mean (and steep!) streets of the Dogpatch, reeled in crab traps at Torpedo Wharf and kept busy in the kitchen. After what felt like a Groundhog Day purgatory, Cathy and Aaron were sure there was no one else with whom they'd rather spend their lives.

Aaron surprised Cathy with a trip to Carmel as a welcome escape from their condo. After a beachside horseback ride and scenic 17 Mile drive, Aaron proposed to Cathy in their suite at the Tickle Pink Inn overlooking the headlands.
