There will be 4 main events:

-Haldi

A ceremony where the couple is covered in tumeric before the wedding day (this is to exfoliate the skin to look radiant for the weeding day). It is common to wear yellow to this ceremony.

-Mehndi

A ceremony where henna is applied to the bride's hands and feet. Henna is believed to be a cooling agent to destress before the big day. There will be henna artist at the venue if you wish to receive an intricate design for the wedding celebrations.

-Sangeet

An opportunity for family and friends to showcase their talents of dancing and singing.

-Wedding ceremony

There will be multiple prayers/blessings throughout the day. The main puja (prayer) will be surrounding a fire where the bride and groom will walk around 7 times to signify: the 7 lifetimes they will be wed for, and the blessings that they are asking for.

The bride and groom will give each other a lei as a sign of commitment.

As this is a multicultural occasion there will be a range of ways the coupled will be signifying their marriage from wedding bands to mangalsutra.
