For those staying at Brown Mountain Beach Resort:
Will there be Wi-Fi or cell service?
There is no cell service at Brown Mountain. Wi-Fi is only available at the café and at the rock pavilion (where the reception will be held). There is no Wi-Fi in the yurts or cottages, so please plan accordingly. The goal is to unplug! Not just for our ceremony, but for the whole weekend!
What should I pack?
Cottages and yurts are stocked with towels, linens, and basic kitchen supplies, and each has its own hot tub and fire pit.
You’ll need to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, as accommodations only include bar soap. We also recommend bringing paper towels or napkins.
The weather should be warm! If it’s nice, we plan to tube down the creek, so don’t forget a bathing suit! There are also great local hikes, so bring comfortable outdoor clothes and any gear you may need.
What about meals at BMBR?
Dinners will be provided. Breakfast and lunch are on your own.
There is an on-site café offering coffee, smoothies, breakfast options, and lunch (sandwiches and salads). If you prefer to cook, you’re welcome to stop at a grocery store before arriving.
Yurts include kitchenettes with full fridges, a gas grill, and a Blackstone cooktop. Cottages have full kitchens and outdoor grills.
The Wedding Day
How do I get to Brown Mountain Beach Resort?
Brown Mountain is nestled in the Pisgah National Forest, and cell service is spotty once you’re about 10-15 minutes away from the resort. We recommend pulling up directions on your phone before you start driving. Please note that there are no Uber drivers in Lenoir, NC, so plan accordingly!
Where can I park?
There is limited parking at Brown Mountain Beach Resort. If you're staying off-site, we kindly ask that you carpool if possible to help accommodate everyone.
Will the wedding be indoor or outdoors?
The wedding will be a mix of both outdoor and indoor, weather permitting. The ceremony will take place by the beach, followed by cocktail hour outside on the deck. The reception will be indoors, and dancing will be outside on the deck. We’ll wrap up the night with s'mores on the beach! Please remember that spring in North Carolina can be chilly once the sun sets!
What time should I arrive for the ceremony?
Please arrive for the pre-ceremony celebration on the deck at 4:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m.
Will there be food and drinks?
Yes! Hors d'oeuvres will be served during cocktail hour, followed by a plated dinner and dessert at the reception. There will be an open bar offering beer, wine, specialty cocktails, and soft drinks throughout the evening. Please enjoy responsibly!
The Welcome Party
Will there be food and drinks?
Desserts and a selection of beverages will be served during the welcome party, so we recommend having dinner beforehand. S’mores and coffee will also be served! For restaurant recommendations, be sure to check out the “Things to Do” section of our website.
