A rainbow, rollerblade, unicorn-loving, dancing queen was born

An all-around star athlete was born

As fate would have it, the stars aligned and the star athlete and the dancing queen met at a dark and dingy bar on Canada Day. History was made

After only knowing him for a few weeks, I invited him to a wedding, and he was surprisingly able to hold his own around my friends

So I decided to let him take me on a real date - it went off without a hitch and we talked for hours on end #firstdateselfie

Since the date went so well, I enlisted him to help me move into my new apartment. We didn't murder each other over IKEA furniture, which was a good sign

A few months later, he finally asked me to be his girlfriend! I decided it was time for him to see some of my dance moves, so we went to our first Kygo concert together

And then I needed to see his athleticism, so we went on our first snowboarding trip to Blue Mountain

Then it was time to meet the fam, so I invited him to a Blue Jays game. I figured since he was a star athlete, he'd be into it

And since meeting my fam went so well, it was time to meet his, including his mini-athlete-in-the-making

Next up was taking him out in my hometown, when we quickly realized we're all Peterborough 12's

Then we got a few more 'firsts' under our belt - our first wedding together

Our first Halloween together

Our first Christmas together

Our first New Years together

Spent my 30th Birthday together

And since all the major firsts went so well, we decided to take our first trip to Mexico, where we fell in love with the country

Then we got the travel bug, and went to Montreal to celebrate our first anniversary

And rolled right into our second Kygo concert together ;)

And began to lean into our love of all things Mexico

And wine...

Plenty of wineries were visited

I mean, who's counting how many wineries at this point

So we headed off to Mexico again for round 2, I hadn't shown him all my dance moves yet, so this was the perfect opportunity

Then we kept the party vibes going until Jason's 30th

When we pretended we were rich for a day

Really losing track of the wineries at this point

He continued to show me his athleticism, and we won a softball tournament together, you know, star athlete and all

Fast forward a few blurry COVID years... by this time Rufy had finally won his heart

And of course, Jax had won mine, and was shaping up to be a real star athlete himself

So I decided I'd let him stick around and come to fancy events with me, especially since we clean up so nicely

Naturally, there were plenty of additional wineries...

And concerts - I obviously had to keep him impressed with my dance moves

A thousand years later, he finally popped the question and the rest is history!

And now with one year to go and the countdown on, we can't wait to celebrate our wedding in our favourite place with all our favourite people surrounding us!
