After meeting a few weeks prior, Cece asked Nick to be her date to her sorority's fall formal event. A follow up date to Hop Cat in East Lansing followed, and they started dating.

Once Senior year wrapped up at MSU, Cece and Nick both accepted jobs in Chicago and moved to the city in the summer of 2018. 4 years later, Cece and Nick moved in with each other downtown Chicago.

After more than 5 years together, Nick asked Cece to marry him on the eve of the Chicago River turning green for St. Patrick's day weekend with both of their families there to celebrate.
