Our Story
Tyler and Cecilia knew each other throughout elementary and middle school. They started taking the same classes sophomore year of high school and became the best of friends. Tyler decided to ask Cecilia on a date in November of 2012 and they became official on November 16th of that year. Throughout their high school years they quickly became each other's biggest fans by going to each other's baseball games and dance competitions. They graduated high school together and both went to the University of Kentucky. After graduating Tyler and Cecilia went long distance for a while - Tyler taking a job in Burlington, Iowa and Cecilia in Orlando, Florida. After about a year Cecilia and Tyler moved back to Lexington together. They have been living together ever since with a proposal on December 14th, 2022.
Our Ten Years
The Proposal
After 10 years of dating, the proposal happened on December 14th of 2022. Cecilia’s parents came up to Lexington for a work trip. Tyler decided this was a perfect time to propose while her family was in town. Cecilia went to work that Wednesday and Tyler had texted her that he did not feel well. Cecilia had just gotten over the flu and was certain that Tyler had caught it. Tyler asked Cecilia to wake him up when she got home so they could go to dinner with her parents. When she got home she peeked in the door and Tyler was down on one knee with the engagement ring. The apartment was decorated with all kinds of engagement décor. Cecilia was so excited and surprised that she said, “YES!” before Tyler could even pop the question. Cecilia’s family was waiting outside the apartment ready to go celebrate and start planning this wedding!
