I was working as a barista managing a coffee shop in Alex‘s small town; when I very subtly started crushing on Alex. I had slowly been getting to know Alex over the course of a couple of months. My boss at the time was unknowingly being Alex’s wingman. Telling me how great of a person Alex was and is, how smart and dedicated they are, the type of friend they were, how kind and compassionate Alex is; their love of science and justice. Soooooo I was like man this human is so freaking cool can they be my friend? Alex was a regular and I saw them multiple times a week and just talked to them and got to know them myself and that’s when I started crushing! (I mean how could I not.) Alex would come in after clinical to study or do homework and we would just talk. Soon my friend and co worker started to play wingwoman on my behalf! And that’s when things really picked up! A few weeks later Alex helped me close the shop and we sat out front and talked for hours. We went on an official date a day later and never looked back!
