Our Relationship

It all started Easter 2014. Take note of that, Aaron came to church and found his wife.

After meeting at church a bunch of us went to one of the couple's house to spend our Easter day. Aaron and I hit it off pretty quickly; we just enjoyed talking to one another. That night we became Facebook friends and began messaging each other. There was just something about our friendship right off the bat that felt natural--he could make me laugh so hard. Since it was near the end of the school year we went our separate ways, but didn't want to stop talking. We had a our first phone conversation a week or so later, and to our surprise we talked for 4 hours that night. We were both dumbfounded at how easy it was to communitcate with one another.

Several weeks later I was about to start my summer at Camp Li-Wa, but we needed more guy counselors. Out of nowhere Aaron agrees to spend the summer volunteering at this camp that meant so much to me. It was obvious to several members of the staff immediately that there was something there. Aaron finally confirmed his feelings a week or so into camp, but both of us agreed that we didn't want to focus on it, but instead focus on the job at hand. I also somehow managed to confuse him into thinking I wasn't interested.

Every moment the staff had to hang out we were always by each other talking, not in a secluded way, but more like friends talking within the group. By the middle of the summer I finally communicated properly that I was indeed interested in him as well. He was on cloud 9 from that point on.

He never officially asked me out, but we both mutually knew that we were going to date when the summer came to an end. When that time came, I drove to Palmer to meet his family then flew out to see my own. Within a day or two of being home Aaron Skyped my father to ask his permission to date me. We spend out first month "together" through long distance. Within a week I knew I loved him and wanted to marry him.

When we got back to campus we began the new life of dating that was new to both of us. We said I love you to each other a week or so after getting back and shared our first kiss about 2 months into our relationship. (funny story for those who've heard it!) We knew we were going to get married within the first few months of us dating, but knew we had to wait.

Fast forward 2 1/2 years and we are still waiting. But it has been well worth the wait. We have learned more about each other, ourselves, and who we are together. We want to honor God with our lives and our marriage, that is our commitment. We hope that you can join us to celebrate that commitment.
