A few question's Celeste and Thomas would ask if they were attending:
What is the Venetian Festival and how will it affect the wedding day and guests?
The Charlevoix Venetian Festival traditionally is held for two weekends around the Charlevoix Bridge area. It is based on 17th century carnival or carnevale festivities to celebrate the period just before lent in Venice, Italy. The Charlevoix festival holds street parades, concerts, car and boat parades, Aquapalooza, and fireworks. These festivities may affect the wedding and guests with traffic and limited lodging. The bridge may be congested and traffic may affect those lodged northern of the wedding venue (such as Petoskey or Charlevoix hotels). To save money and provide a peace of mind, book early and plan ahead for possible traffic to and from the wedding venue. A live camera stream of the bridge can be found at the following link (https://www.mangolinkworld.com/webcams/transport/charlevoix-bridge-webcam.html) Apart from these factors, the festival would be a great way for guests to enjoy their weekend in northern Michigan.
Will there be cell phone reception?
Charlevoix shows coverage for major cell phone providers, but as we noticed, cell service was a bit spotty for Verizon. We recommend referring to directions on the wedding invites or screenshotting directions beforehand.
What does cocktail attire mean?
Cocktail attire for our wedding dress code means we'd love if everyone would dress up to celebrate with us, as we will be also! Cocktail attire is a balance between elegant and comfortable clothing. Typically, men wear suits and ties, women wear dresses or nice pant-suits and heels, wedges, or dress flats. We're encouraging guests not to wear polos, khakis (khaki-slacks are fine), white dresses, or casual wear for professional media purposes.
