Virginia is for lovers – and that includes you! Here’s everything you need to know about traveling to Lynchburg for our big day.

Where should I fly into?

After conquering a long distance relationship where we had to fly in and out of allllll of the surrounding airports, we like to consider ourselves experts on this. Here are your options:

Lynchburg (LYH)

10 minutes away from downtown Lynchburg

Small airport with connecting flights from Charlotte

We can send someone to pick you up - just ask!

Roanoke (ROA)

1 hour away from lyh

Cheap, direct flights to some major airports

We'd recommend a rental car

Charlottesville (CHO)

1 hour away from lyh

Cheap, direct flights to some major airports

We'd recommend a rental car

Richmond (RIA)

If you’re interested in checking out our state’s capital and okay with getting a rental car, Richmond usually has lots of flight options. Otherwise, we’d recommend the closer airports.

Where should I stay?

Downtown Lynchburg: Our neck of the woods! We strongly suggest staying downtown where you’re within walking distance to coffee, food, the beautiful Blackwater Creek trails, and our venue. See below for recs in this area.

Rivermont area: This adorable neighborhood is home to some of our favorite places to hang including our beloved coffee shop and lots of cool houses. It’s about a ten minute drive to our venue. See below for recs in this area.

What kind of place should I stay?

Airbnbs:

There are some pretty amazing airbnb properties in Lynchburg. Affordable too! Check these out or explore on your own: Small loft, Historic Home, Bluff walk apartment, Historic homes, Large loft, Spot by the trail.

Hotels:

The Virginian: This historic downtown hotel is infamous throughout Virginia. It has gorgeous decor, an awesome (pricey) restaurant downstairs, and a rooftop bar on top!

The Craddock Terry: This charming hotel is super clean and cozy. Another great option to stay within walking distance of the venue. It has a giant red high heel outside of it.

Wanna Make a Trip Out of It?

Hiking: With the Blue Ridge Mountains nearby, there are tons of awesome hikes - favs are Cole Mountain and Sharp Top. Shenandoah National Park is close too!

Wineries: Virginia has lots of gorgeous wineries. Check out Ankida Ridge Winery and Lovingston Winery (there are corgis and mini ponies here!)
