You can't deny the Biochemistry between us. We met in our Senior year of college while working under the same advisor for our Biochemistry thesis. A few weeks of Will-They-Won’t-They eventually turned into 9 years (and counting!) of the best partnership we could ask for.Clearly there’s nothing more romantic than a science lab.

Travel Tips

While it's best to avoid drinking tap water in Mexico, don’t worry--bottled and filtered water is widely available and used in hotels, restaurants, and resorts. Stick to bottled water for drinking and brushing your teeth just to be safe. That said, nice restaurants and bars use purified water and ice, so your margaritas and mezcalitas are safe to sip and enjoy! No need to rent a car--Uber is very common and easy to use. Most restaurants and bars take credit cards. When dining out, it's common (and safer) to have the waiter bring the card reader directly to your table rather than taking your credit card away. If a server reaches to walk off with your card, feel free to politely ask them to bring the machine over instead. It’s a good idea to have some pesos on hand for souvenir stands, markets, small eateries, and tipping. We recommend using the airport exchange counters or withdrawing from a bank ATM. Built in the 18th century, Santa Rosa de Viterbo is a classic example of Mexican Baroque architecture. It’s a key historical landmark in the city and was declared a national monument in 1931. And it’s also where our religious ceremony will be held! We’re so excited to be tying the knot at this historic site.

Plaza de Armas is the oldest square in the city and one of the main hubs for great restaurants and cafes. A perfect place to snap some pics, catch some street music performances, or grab a cold michelada!

After visiting Plaza de Armas continue strolling down Calle 5 de Mayo, one of the popular “andadores” (pedestrian-only streets) for even more restaurants, shops, and coffee spots. Return at nighttime for the fun bar scene and live music!

Designated as one of the “Pueblos Mágicos” of Mexico, San Sebastian Bernal is a perfect day trip from Querétaro. It’s mostly known for that one giant rock – Peña de Bernal, one of the world’s largest monoliths. But the gorditas stuffed with everything from chicharrón to huitlacoche are the real reason locals visit.

Located just about an hour and a half from Querétaro, it’s an easy and scenic drive to this lively town. Explore the bustling El Jardín, the main square, where you can soak in the lively atmosphere and enjoy street performances.Buy a souvenir (or two) from the Mercado de Artesanías where you can find handcrafted textiles, ceramics, jewelry, and traditional Mexican folk art.
