Our Story

Our Story

We met in January 2014 while working at JCPenney together and began dating shortly after. From the first day we spoke, laughter and smiles were always exchanged. Our outgoing personalities made it easy to get along. In getting to know each other, everything just clicked and we quickly fell for each other. It's easy to fall in love when the person by your side has the perfect balance of similarities and differences. Before getting engaged, we always talked about the future and what we want out of life. We both dream big and our visions really go hand in hand. We have always been a great team and we knew that a future together was forseeable.

The Proposal From Chad's Eyes:

With knowing that Kylie is the woman I want to spend my forever with, I wanted to make my proposal the best I could. I decided to plan a weekend trip for us to Big Bear Lake, CA. On the second morning, I surprised her with breakfast right on the lakeside. I brought a cooler containing our breakfast, a fold up table, and two chairs. I set up my bluetooth speaker and put on some jazz music while we enjoyed a peaceful/relaxing meal lakeside. Right after we finished eating, my heart was pounding and I got really nervous (in the best way). I couldn't stop smiling. I tried to be sneaky when pulling out the ring I had hidden near me, but looking back I don't think I was so subtle. It ended up making for an even better memory though. I quickly picked up the ring and hid it behind my back as I got on one knee in front of her. Her reaction was truly priceless and the look of surprise and excitement on her face was beautiful. When I pulled out the ring she lost her breath and kept asking "what is that?!" As I asked her to marry me, she lost her breath and tears filled her eyes as she quickly said YES and jumped in my arms. To date, this is the best moment of my life. Marrying Kylie is going to be the best decision I will ever make. I am so excited for our journey as husband and wife and cannot wait to see all that our future holds.

The Proposal From Kylie's Eyes:

I knew we were going to eventually get married but I did not expect him to propose as soon as he did. I had no idea where we were going for the weekend; I just knew he was surprising me with a weekend get away, and I was super excited to spend it with the man that I love. He had previously asked me to send him pictures of rings that I liked, but I procrastinated, and I finally started showing him some of the pictures on the way to Big Bear. Little did I know, he had already picked a ring. His breakfast surprise was so sweet. He surprised me with my favorite cereal, Captain Crunch, so at that point I was already ecstatic. When he got down on one knee in front of me, I thought he was joking or just getting at eye level to tell me something. When he pulled out the box for the ring, I wasn't sure if it really was a ring and I could feel myself starting to hold back tears. I kept asking over and over and over again, "what is that?!", because I didn't want to look like an idiot if I started crying and it was a pair of earrings or something. When he finally opened the box and I saw a ring inside (which was more beautiful than any of the rings I showed him in the pictures), my heart started pounding and I couldn't stop myself from crying. Within seconds, I was saying yes and feeling a sense of joy I have never felt before. For the rest of the day, I couldn't stop smiling and my heart seemed to never stop pounding from excitement. I have never been someone to picture my wedding or see a vision of being with someone for an entire lifetime, but Chad makes me envision those things. I am so thankful to have him in my life, and I am so excited for our future together. He has brought so much positivity and happiness into my life, and I can't wait to call him my husband.
