Jo and I met in Wisconsin at Chick-fil-A. Over time as we got to know each other, we both learned that our minds spoke the same language and thought the same way. We grew so close, so quickly and I don’t know what I would do without her understanding ear, right words, and overspilling love. She is the person that I lean on to help me figure out what’s going on in my mind.

Larissa and I met at Eastern Mennonite University. At the time she was a local to Harrisonburg and was able to show me the ropes and helped me through some really hard times. Larissa and I haven’t spent an incredible amount of time together over the past few years, but when we do, we always have deep and understanding conversations, and adventure as much as we can handle.

Kayla and I met in Wisconsin and bonded over having fiancés that ARE THE SAME. She was the first friend I made in Wisconsin. Being in college, she was around very little at first. Eventually she became my go to garage party buddy and I will never be able to thank her enough for making me feel comfortable and inviting me in to an already established group. Since then, I have watched her get married and become a mom. I am incredibly proud to call this kindhearted, competitive, hilarious girl one of my amazing live long friends.

Brooke and I met over a decade ago through my brother. Although we were unlikely to be friends, since we are very different, that did not stop us from building an amazing friendship bond. She became my person, we have helped one another through so much, and have always had one another to lean on. She is always in my corner, and I will always appreciate everything she’s done for me. Like Kayla, I have seen her through so much including, getting married and becoming a mom and now raising a toddler. I can’t see my life without having Brooke by my side.

Kiley just became my sister-in-law, and over the past year, instead of just becoming my sister-in-law, she became my friend. She is an incredible listener, has such a big heart and I cannot wait to share our lives side by side, watching one another grow. I thank God every day for putting her in my brother’s life, but also for putting her in mine.

Travis and I met when I started working at Gulfstream in Wisconsin in 2018. He and I, as Darby says, “ARE THE SAME PERSON.” Normally things that couples do like finishing each other’s sentences, thinking what the other is thinking, having the same expressions, stuff like that, yea that’s us. Even though we have only known each other for 6 years, it feels like we have known each other a lifetime. I’m thankful to have him as my Best Man.

JD and I grew up playing soccer together. He has always looked out for me like a brother and I cannot thank him enough for that. All the late night cruises home from soccer, or all of the “man dates” that we have been on…even though it may look a little weird to others on the outside, those are the memories that I will forever hold onto.

Tyler and I met during summer camp right before 3rd grade. He and I were always getting into some type of trouble when we hung out, which is on par for our lives. We both are into riding & driving anything with a motor, which is how I really got into riding dirt bikes. We have seen each other through the worst of times and the best of times and I’m grateful he has been with me through it all.

Kyle and I have known one another since kindergarten, so we have been friends for quite some time. We also shared the fun of riding dirt bikes together and had many winter trips skiing at Massanutten. Whenever we were together, there was always mayhem, which is probably why we have remained friends as long as we have.

I first met Kyle when I was invited to dinner at Darby's parents’ house when we first began dating. We haven’t had the chance do much together until recently, due to our busy schedules, but I enjoy hanging out with him when the opportunity arises. I am looking forward to creating memories with my soon to be brother-in-law as the newest member of the Nicholson family.

Jayden is the child of Brooke and Justin Van Hoven, he is our oldest “nephew”. He is such a fiery light in our lives and we are so excited he is excited to be a part of our day as a truck driving bubble boy!
