TeRoi and I were first introduced at an Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Charity event. There was an immediate chemistry but, we went our separate ways that day.

A few months later, we met again at a party. We were able to have some brief but, lasting conversation that evening. It was clear that we both wanted to connect more.

The following Sunday, September 11th, was our first date. We met at the Edgewater Hotel. I am pretty sure that we spent every night of that first couple of weeks together.

We were smitten. Love and chemistry are words that I would use to describe those early times in our relationship. Spending time with each other felt comfortable.

He spoke about telling our love story to our grandchildren on our first date.
