We have our sisters, Caroline and Kaci, to thank for so many things, including bringing us together! A blind date was agreed upon, numbers were exchanged, and a plan was made. We met on July 8, 2021 at Bowl & Barrel in Dallas, Texas, and the rest is history! We talked and bowled and ate tons of appetizers, and both left knowing our lives would never be the same from that night on.
AS TOLD BY BRITT
It all started back in October when I went to pick out the ring... I had help from my mom, sister, and grandma of course. I must have looked at a hundred diamonds but it was the 101st that grabbed my eye and sparkled just like her eyes. I knew it was the one for her just like she’s the one for me. Hanging onto the ring and not telling her was the hardest thing for me! She’s my best friend I tell her everything but this had to wait. It had to be just right for the woman of my dreams.
I scouted a few locations before I found where I wanted to get on one knee. I decided the Nancy Best fountains at Klyde Warren Park would be the perfect place, and the day would be Valentine’s Day. I wanted it to be a total surprise, so I had a driver pick us up at the house and told Chandler that we'd be going out to eat at a restaurant downtown. The driver dropped us off near the park and we started to walk towards the fountains. At this point, it’s getting real and I was so nervous! I texted the photographer making sure she was in place (I hired a secret photographer for the big moment) and my hands were shaking so much I could hardly text. Chan was getting suspicious and I couldn’t hide my excitement much longer. We stood in front of the fountains for a second and enjoyed the water show and the music playing. Then I turned and looked at her, reaching into my pocket and grabbing the ring. I confessed that she’s has always been the woman for me and I’m so crazy in love with her and I want to spend the rest of my life with her! I got down on one knee and asked my best friend to marry me. She said yes and the crowd around the fountains erupted with congratulations! The joy that came over me was immense and the happiness on her face was all I've ever wanted.
I walked her back to the car and our amazing driver Alfredo decorated the vehicle with a huge teddy bear, jewels, confetti, and of course champagne... But I wasn’t done just yet! Chan was hungry and was asking about dinner, but I had a plan that never included any restaurant downtown. Alfredo took us back to my parents' house and there waiting as we walked in the door were both of our families. Everyone was smiling and crying tears of joy - a joy we will feel for the rest of our lives!
